KYB Shocks are STILL THE BEST!
A quick rundown on the KYB line-up, as Dodge Durango/Dakota's have a choice of all three:Red: Truck-like, for oversize tires, RV towing, etc - I didn't buy these.Silver: Gas-a-Just Street Performance, handling and ride smoothly considering the handling advantage.Black: Basic OEM replacement - I didn't buy these. The KYB Silver Gas-a-Just impressed me AGAIN! My 2003 Dodge Durango R/T AWD 5.9L drives better than new! Steering response is more solid, braking has improved, and cornering has never been this good. There would probably be a slight loss in ride comfort from OEM (float-a-matic) "shocks", ours were worn -originals- so I really can't comment on the original factory shocks. They are money very well spent on your vehicle, and you will not have to replace them again. The only thing better than these would be the "top shelf" units from Koni or Bilstein, and unless you're racing on weekends, neither of those are necessary or better for street use.I've been using these shocks on many of my vehicles for the last 25 years. I first ran across them for my 1968 1/2 Ford Mustang GT/CS (California Special - 4 speed manual trans - 302 - disc brakes - true GT) back in 1990, after installing OEM Shelby Springs and swaybars - the KYB Gas-a-Just (white at that time) was the only shock that was firm and still allowed for a comfortable ride on the street. The car was just as stable at 168mph, as at highway speeds........ yes, seriously.

Perfect shocks for 2000 Durango 4wd
Installed the KYB Gas-a-Just shocks when I rebuilt the front end of my 2000 Durango 4wd (ball joints, tie rod ends, control arm bushings, sway bar bushings). Immediate improvement in ride quality and handling. All of the bumps and dips I encounter mostly on my way to work are virtually unnoticeable now. No more front end dive when braking either. Can't wait to install the rear shocks when I rebuild the rear suspension. Well worth the money!

Shock fit not exact
Didnt fit exact. I had to grind 1/4” off the spacer going through the bottom bushing to fit in my 96 f150. No big deal if you have the tools. In no way does it effect the operation of shock. Rides alot better now.

93 Ford Bronco
I bought 4 of these for my quad shock setup based on another review. Found out the setup is different for the front and back shocks. This model is for the spot behind the coil spring. The shock in front is longer and has a larger diameter hole for the bolt to go through. Model number for the FRONT is KG5439. Hope this helps someone!

Great product
Smooth ride while feeling stiff at the same time. Improved handling quite a bit. A lot of cheap shocks will stiffen up the suspension and give a rough ride. Not the case with these.

Perfect for the front of my 2003 Durango
I put these shocks on the front of my 2003 Durango AWD. The shocks were original and had 100K on them. On the rear I have the Ranchero 9900s (on setting "2' currently). I took a 120 mile drive this week-end after adding the Ranchero's on the back and KYB KG5440 shocks on the fronts. I was looking for more of a car-like, comfortable ride. Didn't have great expectations since my Durango has felt very truck-like for all the years I have had it: the tires "slapped" on bumps prior to this change. The worst part has been that in Chicago some of our roads have dips in them and the truck tended to jump or skip a bit on the up side of those dips. In snow it is especially easy to totally lose control of the back end when this would happen. That has all changed now. I am more than pleasantly surprised with the ride (I should mention I also changed tires from Wrangler R/T's to General Grabber AT2 (265-70-16). So I changed two variables at once. Now the bumps are truly absorbed and the big ones just had a good, confident "rubbery" feel to them. The truck did not skip on the dips but did "float' up and down a bit on them. I may try to adjust the rear shocks to a 3 or 4 and see if that gets better but I was really happy with the plush(ish) ride so have no complaints with the way things are right now.

Hard to install
I’ve always had good experiences with KYB products, but these shocks were almost impossible to install because they don’t come compressed.

Made 1992 Bronco ride like brand new.
Great ride better then stock IMO. Truck doesn't just beat you to death on rough roads anymore. handles firm and crisp around the corners at high speeds. Ive been using Gas Adjust shocks for years now. I live in the mountains on bad pavement and rough dirt roads. I have a complete sets on all my Broncos and Fords for the last 50k miles and still ride great. These shocks can handle the punishment and IMO are the best shocks for the Money. If you have an OBS Ford put these on. You wont be disappointed

Ride is smoother now, Just if the manufacturer put a card-board plug on the top.The top of shock (small diameter) in shipping will damage boxes...But got both Front and Rear and shipper must have been very gentle, only one top box broke!Thank you.

Very disappointed.
Has them on less than five months and 15000 Km (mostly highway) and one has completely blown out and the other is leaking. I expected a lot better from kyb
