Put the plug of Wi-Fi Router/Modem/AP into the Wi-Fi restarter, configure it. And it will automatically detect Wi-Fi connection, reset the router if Wi-Fi fails. The smart wifi plug connects to your internet just like any other smart home devices such as a thermostat, switch etc. Plug the power cord from your Wi-Fi Router/Modem/AP into the device, when it detects that the internet connection is lost, the plug turns the power off to the Wi-Fi Router/Modem/AP (the Wi-Fi Router/Modem/AP power plugs int the device). Then it turns the power back on and it restarts the modem. just like if you were physically there and unplugged your modem to do a reset and plugged it back in. It can also be set for a schedule to turn the device on and off whenever you want. For example, you can set yours to reset once every 24 hours at 6:00 in the morning. It's worked when your internet was lost. It kept cycling the power on and off until whatever caused the internet to go off and came back online. The wifi router restarter generally takes 2-3 minutes to reconnect/reboot normal wifi router/modem/Access points, but some wifi router/modem/Access points used for a long time may take more time. It doesn't come with an update to set the time interval between loss of wi-fi and reboot, but later we'll develop this function. If you need help of product, installation or operation, please feel free to contact us first and we'll try our best to help you.System Requirements: Wi-Fi router Android devices with Android 4.0 or higher Product Specifications: Electrical Rating: 15A 125V~60Hz Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz 802.11 b/g/n Package Included: 1 x Wi-Fi Router Reset 1 x User Manual

The Device is Working with a Little Extra Effort
I purchased this device even with all of the negative tech reviews to see if I could set up a once a week reboot vs the Daily reboot some of the other brands advertise using dumb timers. You do not need to reboot a cable modem every day as some companies use as a marketing gimmick. My setup is I have a second home with automation and about once a month the Internet is down where the cable service causes an issue with the modem hanging. Overall the experience so far has been good with some issues at the start. Install directions and Tech support is not so great. Directions are lacking addressing anything if you have problems and tech support never replied to my email questions. It started out I could not set up the device on my network whereas the application from my Android phone or tablet could not find the devices. I was on track to return them back to amazon. After a day+ of resetting the devices and try-try-try again, I figured out it was due to my Mesh Router system. My Wemo devices tend to fail setup in a similar way. After turning off all of the Router hubs other than the main router, reset the Ankuoo devices and clear the cache on the APP and start over it all seemed to work and the devices loaded and responded. And several Firmware updates flowed within a couple of minutes. I installed two devices. One for the Cable Modem and one for the Router and my Smartthings hub. I set the devices up to reboot once a week vs Daily and set the Router to turn on 4 minutes after the modem reboot. Testing the devices it worked great and I disconnected the power from my Modem and the device seems to reboot once after 15 minutes simulating it will reboot when the internet is down. Not sure how it acts in a long-term outage. The Apps give me control if I wanted to reboot from remote locations. I have it set up to send a notification every time it reboots. My Network modem and router are on a Battery-UPS so I do not have to deal with power flickers causes the network to drop for short outages which we tend to have in Arizona. I've been running for about 6 weeks without issues. Will update this after a couple more months

Set them up and they just do their thing
Every so often, my routers just need to be reset. Most of the time, it's because my cable company changes DNS server addresses or some other aspect of their network. I was going to write a script to ping some places on the internet and trip a relay to cut the power to my routers when I couldn't get through for some amount of time. Low and behold, someone saved me the trouble with a little, inexpensive appliance that does all that by itself.I opened the box, plugged one of the rebooters into an outlet near my kitchen table and unfolded the instructions. I found their app on the play store and installed it in a minute or two. The app found the device and asked me the name and password for the 2.4 Ghz part of my wifi router. It then rebooted itself and there was nothing else to do but to plug it into my UPS where the router was plugged in, and plug the router into it.These are only capable of 2.4 Ghz, which is the older, slower wifi band. Most routers have that band, even if they also have the newer, faster features. The 2.4 Ghz is probably on in your house unless someone has decided that you don't have any older equipment and turned it off. In that case it needs to be turned back on for the rebooter to check for the internet. The instructions are very sparse, but they do show everything you have to do to make it work. I was a bit concerned that it didn't tell me how to turn on the automatic rebooting function, but that's because it just works and there is no way to turn it off or on. The app is equally sparse but allows you to manually power-cycle your router (or whatever is plugged into it), to set a daily turn-off and turn-on time (to keep the kids off the internet at night) or to set a time each day to power-cycle the device plugged into it. You can also turn the plugged-in appliance on or off using either the app or a button on the rebooter. So does it work? I couldn't tell. It just sits there, doing it's thing (or not.) So I unplugged the cable from my cable modem. In about 4 minutes, the rebooter powered off my router and powered it back on after a short while. Success! It does exactly what it's made to do. No muss, no fuss, no messing around or keeping an eye on it. It Just Works!

Works after setup, but app initial setup only works on older β€v7.0 android phones.
Tldr; works great if you have an older phone and don't in-app update to trojan your phone for the Chinese developer.πππThis product worked perfectly after being configured.ππBy far the biggest problem with this product is the software that is required to set up the device. The required app does not work on any Android device running os version 8 or above. I was not able to set up the device even through AP mode even on multiple devices(phones or tablets) However, when I broke out my older Android 7.0 device and ran the app, the device was automatically found within seconds. I tested the AP setup mode on the second device and that too worked without any problems. After being configured on my old Android 7 device the app on my current phone (linked to the required login) was able to see and administer the devices and received offline online alerts.π The app does not have an updated version in the app store, but the app itself has an update feature where it tries to download unsecure and untested application files to your phone after requesting a series of permissions that it has no business ever accessing. This is of course sketchy as hell and you shouldn't allow it. I kept the original version only on my Android 11 phone with minimal permissions in order to remotely reset them and receive offline/online notifications. After being configured and tested, this device works exactly as advertised, it is exactly what I needed.
