Works for a shelf, but the stated weight it will bear is exaggerated. with a 28lb stereo on it the shelf bowed drastically and pulled out the anchors. I ended up using metal support brackets to support it. With the brackets it does well, but needs less than 10 lbs on it to get by without supports.
