I don't know why you wouldn't choose this product!
I thought this was a rediculous purchase my husband made until I learned how to use it! I couldn't understand why we needed this! Now I'm afraid I wouldn't want to live without it. I'm finally consistently comfortable in our home! Easy to use and the reduction in the heating bill definitely covers for the price! Worth it!

Beware the photos - color mismatch
I just got this unit with the satellite temperature sensors. As you can see the sensors are white. The main unit looks white too - but is not. Why they would bundle a silver main unit with white satellites is beyond me, but that’s what this is. I gave 2 stars as we have another nest for our upstairs and it works pretty well. Though it hasn’t helped with out energy costs so far (4 months in).

Perfect tool to fight a crappy air-conditioning system.
Let’s me set and control temperature based on any one of three temperature readings, Which is very important in a large house where the rooms are spread out, and the home builder air-conditioning system was installed like crap. If you have several rooms, but only really care about the temperature in one two or three of those rooms at a given time, this is the product for you.

The device works well and the app is a pleasure to use. I installed it with two remote sensors which I designated as daytime and night time sensors. The 'Eco' mode works well sensing when you are home and when you are not and setting efficient temps. My only complaint is that you cannot select the time interval each remote sensor controls. Nest only includes 4 predetermined (by them) intervals. This is annoying and considering how sophisticated the device is I cannot imagine why the programming does not exist to set what time intervals the homeowner wants to use. This will be probably be especially disappointing to people who do not follow a 9 to 5 type of life.

Incredibly easy to set up and use!
Wow - incredibly easy to set up - just make sure that you check in advance that your system is compatible. Love being able to control our thermostat from anywhere especially since we travel a lot and like to make sure that the heat is off when we are away or out of the house for the day. My utility company also gave me a $50 rebate for using a smart thermostat which was a nice added bonus.

Absolutely awesome!!!!!
Works great. Easy to install and use. I always use my smart phone or tablet to tweak adjustments. I never have to walk to the thermostat to make adjustments.

Don't waste your money.
Don't bother with this if you are hoping to see current outdoor temperatures. I emailed tech support back and forth for weeks to no avail. They use internet weather for your area (which is wrong for my city apparently). They took 3weeks to get back to me but I didn't respond for 4 days and they closed the case on me. I could've gotten a basic programmable thermostat for much cheaper.

It's not good (but it's not bad)
Believe it or not, your NEST does work better with the two sensors. By getting readings in various room my HVAC system is able to keep the place relatively hot/cold within a few moments. FYI - the system I'm using is a commercial grade LENNOX unit (read: overkill) as my family works in the construction and HVAC field.Not telling anyone to buy commercial unit, but just remember, the NEST thermometer is only as good as the HVAC system it's attached to. For example it won't transform that home depot crappy CARRIER home unit into awesome, but it will make a Bosch High Efficiency Ultra-Quiet 48,000 BTU unit work magic.
