Put in enough Fire Glass in to cover the burner and to fill the entire fire pit pan. It will heat up better and maintain the proper temperature to keep sufficient heat radiating from it. I used Amazon because the glass that came with my unit was blue (22 pounds) and everything on our patio including our new fire pit, dining table and chairs are more of an earth tone color. I initially ordered 20 pounds and found out that I needed another 10 pound bag to fill the fire pit to a more desirable level. I did not have to use it all so I'll have extra.

Fire Pit Essentials have hit a homerun. If you want superior quality fire pit products this is your company, Plenty of color selections in all your needs size configurations. Fair price and outstanding delivery as promised also packed appropriately, Amazon tends to over protect/pack a lot of outside vendor items but this was delivered with protection and no excess packaging. One to keep as a trusted product provider/vendor.

The blended glass beads as simply magnificent....The Blended Beach Vibe color simply glows when the cover comes off the fire pit table and exposes this wonderful glass.......the color is reminiscent of the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas......this product would have been easily worthy of a five star review except for the fact that delivery was extremely slow.......

These glass pieces were to replace some we had that were the broken shard type. We thought the smooth flattened circles would be safer and easier to handle and we were ready for a color change to match new furniture. However we replaced the exact same weight as we took out and could not get the gas flame in our large gas firepit to come up through the new stones. It would build up and then kind of explode (small) with the built up gas and then repeat this. With the broken shards we had an adjustable and continuous flame right across the rectangle shape of this very expensive firepit. We removed stones twice to see if that would help. It was only until I took out 2/3 of the stones that we could get a good enough continuous flame and it is still not perfect. This left us with tons of unused stones that we are not about to pack up and ship back. I don't recommend them for gas firepits at all.

I recently dug up an old lily pond that was in my back yard. I decided to develop the pond into a Zen garden but using the glass beads instead of water. Turned out better than expected. Looks spectacular at night. Note: the water you see in the pond was from a recent rain.

These are really nice-sized, beautifully colored, quality pieces of tempered glass. We bought them to put in our propane fire pit outside. They always draw compliments from people who see them. They really "move" and "dance" when we turn on the flames and the sun goes down. I highly recommend these specific fire beads. (Funny story: During Thanksgiving, our family decided to play Mexican Bingo. We didn't have any markers to put on our Bingo cards. So, we grabbed a handful of these glass fire beads out of the fire put, rinsed them under the faucet, dried them off, and used them for markers during our Bingo game!! They work perfectly for that, too!! LOL!!)

I normally don't write too many reviews; but I rely on reviews from other people to make my choices on various products. My wife and I were looking for fire glass beads to replace the standard lava rocks and black glass that came with our Northwoods TableFire Gas Firebowl. There were several options, but we chose the Tiger Eye blend, which consists of several multi-colored half-inch beads. The ten pound bag was more than enough to cover the entire area of our small fire pit. In a nutshell, we love the look and "feel" of the product. In addition to the beauty that the glass beads provide when the gas fire is not lit, the wonderful, rich color of the reflections when the fire is going is a wonder to experience. We did not need to use lava rocks as a foundation for our beads, and found that the heat dissipation was even better without using the lava. I highly recommend this product!

I got the tiger eyes. Used them once so far. Awesome visual of flame and great heat dissapation. One order was not enough for my fire tower so I put a layer of ugly lava rock under them that came with the tower, hid them with the fire glass on top, it looked and worked great. Next light up I will flip all the glass with the rounded side up and it will be even better!
