Dream Plants for the Natural Garden

Wonderful ideas!
Heavy on beautiful full color illustrations, information and ideas. Wish I had a larger property with so I can use all the ideas this book has. Now it's hard for me to pick and choose which to include in next year plantings. But the good thing is, once I do, they are there for years to come rather than resorting to annuals to "fill in" what's there already. Even if you don't garden, it is a lovely book to peruse.

Excellent, well illustrated & detailed list of plants & their care for prairie style gardens
Highly recommended if you are considering making a prairie/low-maintenance cultivated-wild-garden. Replete with full colour photographs (4 - 6 to a page) by Piet Oudolf himself. It is a joy to read, with amusing anecdotes as well as full cultivation notes for each plant. The book is slightly wider than A4, its glossy paper making it a joy to handle. If you never get round to making a garden, it is the kind of book you can flick through in bed, on a wintry evening or sunny morning with coffee or wine, for a pleasant hour or so. I will be definitely be buying Oudolf's 'Planting the Natural Garden' next.

Very inspiring book
I love all of Piet Oudolfs garden books, I’ve borrowed most of them from the local library several times, I decided to buy them. They contain so much information about a new and sustainable way of gardening and his Designs are breathtaking.
