Quality
He who uses a cheap float likes to repair things after they go very wrong . This is an industrial quality float meant to last . Never had any problem with these.

Beefy
I bought this float to replace the one in my septic pump station. The float itself is beefier than it looks. Seems to be working good also. And unlike most others I was looking at this one had plenty of cord and also came with the piggyback end.

Float Switch
Installed this a few years ago with no problems to date.

Does the job
For starters this bulb is quite large compared to typical floats. Being that it is so large, it might activate quicker than a smaller one. The mechanism is mechanical, steel ball when tilted triggers a micro switch, compared to mercury type ones, which are banned in some states. So far so good. Seems solid.

Super heavy duty!
This float is built better than any of the many cheaper floats i have replaced over the years.

failed after 8 months because internal switch is only 10A
I bought this float because it was supposed to be "heavy duty" and I needed it to switch a 1/2 HP pump. Well it looks heavy duty, but looks are deceiving. The description stated that it could handle 13AMPs. Well after it failed In the ON position, my $1250 pump was nearly ruined because it was running for who knows how long. Luckly, I heard it cavitating and was able to shut it off at the breaker panel. After removing the float I decided to determine why it failed in such a short time period. The answer is that the internal switch used appears to be rated for ONLY 10A!(see photo) Its no wonder it fused internally to the ON position. Buyer should be also aware that the float is mearly a repackaging of another piggy back float switch, and the outter red plastic container is NOT WATER PROOF It was filled with water. This may throw off the float on/off levels you established when installing because the filled red bulb is heavier when filled with water. The red bulb also has an extra weight and styrofoam in it as well, so the styrofoam indicates to me that the design did not expect to be water proof. In conclusion, don't use this for 1/2HP pumps, it may be good enoguh for 10A at most.

Worked great in my lift station
This product worked great, I only used one of the leg for my lift station but went with this product based on reviews and how it was made/constructed since it sits in Poop all day long. Length was great as well which other products were 5' shorter and I needed that extra 5'. Worked great in my single stage lift station to turn on pump only. Will update if the product fails.Thank you

NOT SUITABLE FOR MOST SUMP/SEWAGE PUMPS
WHY? Here is why ...After this free floating float activates a pump, the float switches off when liquid level goes down by only 3.5 inch. This is too small of a difference in liquid levels and results in frequent pump switching that leads to pump wear and premature failure. The puny ON/OFF liquid level delta is very unexpected considering the huge size of the float that is intended for bigger tanks and pumps. Most specs for sump/sewage pumps suggest 6 to 10 inches of liquid level delta between pump ON and pump OFF.The advertising and instruction sheets conveniently omit this important technical data. The graphics presented are amateurish at best and misleading at worst. The provided spec in various places oscillate between 100,000 and 1,000,000 cycles for the internal switch. Get your act together!

Works very well in a stock tank
Used as level control in a cattle watering tank, it is a winterized off grid system so there was some ice to deal with, it worked perfectly, the cable is better than most in the cold and it is long, will be buying another for sure, very happy
