Pentair R172288 Corrosion Resistant Check Valve Replacement Pool and Spa Automatic Feeder

I needed a flow check valve when installing my new spa water heater as I had to rework the plumbing on the outlet side and it was going to have to dip down lower than the existing plumbing to meet up with the water outlet on the new heater. Putting this valve inline keeps water from the chlorinator back flowing into the heater when the pump is off. Installed easily with my 2" PVC and seems to be working perfectly!

Replaced the same valve after mine was cracked in the Texas freeze. I replaced all the components that were cracked and this one was fairly easy. I could not find this anywhere locally so I searched on Amazon and it came quickly. Installation was easy. No problems whatsoever.

I converted my pool to salt and installed a new electronic chlorine generator. I installed the check valve downstream of the heater and upstream of the generator. As expected, it works perfect.

This product looks like just what I needed. After installing an inline automatic chlorine feeder in my pool filter system. I originally installed a Jandy check valve in the system and the springs were soon destroyed. This product is supposed to have a sealed spring that is resistant to the effects of chlorine. It is too soon to tell how long the valve will last, but I am hoping for the best.

So far it is working as expected. I had a back flow problem through the filtering system and this valve solved it. Hope it will last for a while. It is too early to give it five stars.

Compact. Perfect to put between the chlorinator and the filter. Keeps any chlorine from backing up and damaging the filter. The size was perfect. My 2" pipe fit over and 1 1/2" pipe fits inside. No adapters needed.

Backflow worked for about a week. Now have bleed back. Plumbed in just before chlorinator, absolutely junk.

I assume this is a good product if you using 1.5 inch PVC pipe, but if you are planning to use 2 inch slip connectors on this I would think twice. Using a 2 inch connector on the inlet side of this check valve would probably seal correctly (maybe) but the fit of a 2 inch connector on the output side of this check valve was way to loose and beyond my comfort level for using it that way. Too bad it the only reasonable priced check valve that implies corrosion resistance.
