Safariland578-283-551 Pro-Fit GLS Holster (Compact)

I had to install the shim to get the gun to fit right. The P-01 is not listed on the compatibility chart, but I took a chance. My wife runs one of these with her CZ and is lightning fast coming out of the holster, which is pretty good for any retention holster. The GLS system works OK. I prefer the Safariland ALS, but for the money and versatility, you really can't go wrong. I lent it to my boss to run a S&W M&P 2.0 compact 9, and he loved it. The multi-fit feature makes it great if you instruct and have students show up with different guns and no good holsters. Worth the money.

The paddle is comfortable. The retention works well. And the release is very natural and easy while still being secure.

This is by far my favorite holster for a defensive handgun. It has retention but is still fast into action. The coyote blends well with other coyote gear. Recently purchased the S&W M&P 2.0 compact handgun and couldn't find a gls on safariland that was made for it. I'm happy to report this fits perfectly. Had to tighten the silver screw on the center of the holster to tighten it, but there's no way its coming out of there unless you disengage the locking system.Being a safariland, theres a boatload of accessories to change how high the holster rides. The major problem with this holster is attaching it to molle. If you're rocking a battle belt, best advice is to use the G code rti with a safariland adapter. Safariland makes a molle adapter but I'm personally not a fan of how high it sits. So factor in another $30 or $40 if you plan on mounting this to a battle belt/chest rig/plate carrier. Overall for $40 I don't think theres a better holster out there. Keeps your finger off the trigger while drawing, has retention, and works great for a tactical holster.

Safariland has a major winner on their hands with this holster. Canik tp9, Taurus th9, girsan 1911 and Glock 17 are all my full-size pistols and this holster holds them all very very well. I also have the sub compact size version of this Safariland holster for my edc pistols Taurus TH9-C, Taurus G2-C and a Sig P365. This holster fits all 3 like it was made for them. Although it’s not this type, I also have a owb paddle style Safariland holster for my ruger lc9 and have carried it as my at work set up for years now and I love it. It’s still going strong so I have no doubt that quality is top notch with Safariland gear. I wish these holsters were more widely known and on more gun store shelves. Buy it, test it out, break it in and then you will most likely agree.

Bought this holster because on the Safariland website, it claimed to fit the HK VP40 (was not included in sticker on packaging). Anyone who owns that pistol knows- holsters that fit are hard to come by. Decided to take a leap and got it. I was pleasantly surprised. The VP40 fits like a glove, the retention is excellent, the pistol doesn’t wiggle around, and it’s easy to get accustomed to the finger release lever. Smooth draw and very simple assembly. 4 stars because I have not had it long, and will see about the ruggedness. Used several Safariland holsters, so I’m optimistic.

Fits/retains multiple pistols!! Nice rounded paddle fits comfortably around my 5’10” 200lb hip, engages the bottom of the belt, stays put on the draw, still easily removed. Good retention, I haven’t crawled around in the dirt with it yet but the holster passed the upside down shake test with all pistols that fit. Draws easily and naturally. The middle finger presses the release lever forward while gripping the butt as part of the draw stroke. Plenty of videos available. This holster has an open bottom, the 19 and TP9v2 end up approx 1/4” in/up from the bottom. The long slide SFx sticks through, and FWIW has plenty of room for a future red dot. I like that I can run multiple pistols at the range out of this one holster.

I am a firearms instructor who owns a large number of holsters, and i have to say.... This is actually a very nice holster. I was skeptical when I ordered it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I have always trusted Safariland, and they didn’t let me down with this holster. My EDC (everyday carry) gun varies between a Ruger 9E and an M&P 2.0 .40, depending what I’m doing and where I’ll be. This one holster, using the adjustment screw, holds both of my EDC’s very securely and and very comfortably. I absolutely recommend this holster.

This model doesn't fit S&W SD9VE, go back to Safariland SL 578 GLS PRO-FIT.

I wanted to use this for Airsoft and it fits both my umarex VP9 and my HK45, doesn't fit WE sigs though.
