I have very heavy XLR cables but needed to order this longer run XLR. I can't see any performance difference, and there are no noise problems. I have no idea of its internal gauges or shielding but at least it locks in tight and has not affected my current set up. It has to run past many other cables and power amps so it can't be too bad.
