Pretty good with some known limitations.
I'm using this mainly for video on my Canon EF-S 10-18. I knew that the X pattern would show up given that this is a wide angle lens. However, there is about a good 5 stop range before the X shows up.I actually contemplated returning my fixed ND8 filter because there was enough range at 10mm (16mm equivalent) to cover it, but there is a very slight haziness in bright/reflective areas that I found when using this variable that wasn't as apparent with my fixed filter. This filter also adds some softness compared to my fixed filter, but I have to zoom in 100% to see it.I'll be using this variable either when I'm too lazy to switch out fixed filters or if lighting conditions change frequently. I'm impressed with this filter so far.

Did exactly what I wanted.
I purchased this filter for photographing waterfalls and streams with my Nikon D5200 camera. I used the filter for the first time last week at Black Water Falls in West Virginia. The day was a bright sunny day and I planned on shooting at 1/2 to 2-second exposures. This required an ISO of 125, a small aperture, and the filter at nearly the maximum filter level. I was concerned reading some of the reviews but I'm glad I bought the filter. This photo was shot at f/16 for 1 second. The picture was shot in raw and the only adjustment was to crop, change the white balance daylight and darken the whites to get more detail in the falls. This will be my go-to filter when I am shooting falls or flowing water scenes in the future.. Give this filter a try.

Unusable
This filter is simply unusable. No matter what I have it set at, there are some sort of blotches or rings all over the photos. It is incapable of creating a consistent gradient. I wish I could return it but I've already unpacked and attempted to use it.

Great and versatile ND filter
This is such a versatile and easy to use option would definitely recommend getting this especially for your largest lens and some sizer rings to fit to smaller kits

Okay, for the price.
Update: Constant X pattern when using the filter. Usable if you don't use it at maximum filter level. But not for me.

As always you get what you pay for.
Good for the price but not great. Some vignette in the edges.

Just what I needed!
Good product

ok for the price
it is a very not expansive ND filter, it works, its builds ok, but the only issue and it kinda hurt is the color shifting, my copy goes a bit greenish, but you pay for what you get
