A Good Basic Keyboard made in Germany - the Land of Engineers
In a world overrun by sleek, minimalist keyboards that feel as insubstantial as vaporware, the Perixx PERIBOARD-315H is a welcome throwback. It's a chunky, no-nonsense slab of plastic and circuitry that evokes an era when keyboards were built to last, not to disappear into the ether of planned obsolescence. Its keys, with their satisfyingly tactile click, offer a reassuring sense of feedback that's all too rare in today's world of feather-light keystrokes. It's a keyboard that demands to be used, not merely glanced at. The PERIBOARD-315H is not without its quirks. Its design is unapologetically utilitarian, devoid of the flashy backlighting and programmable macros that are de rigueur in the modern keyboard landscape. Its wired connection, while ensuring a rock-solid signal, may be seen as an anachronism in an increasingly wireless world. But for those who value substance over style, function over flash, the PERIBOARD-315H is a keyboard that speaks volumes. It's a tool, not a toy, a testament to the enduring power of simplicity in a world that's grown all too complex.

Defective keys
The touch pad part works really good... but the keyboard does not work.. 30% of the keys and typing double characters so when one key is pressed two letters of different locations are displayed eg. if "M" is pressed you will get "XM" displayed.. I am a none us customer and it will not be able to send it back due to the use of a overseas parcel carrier... it would be to costly to do...

Learn what a NumLock is, people! This keyboard is good.
I can't believe the reviews here saying "it types a 2 instead of k", or "keys are improperly mapped". The three status lights on bottom right show CapsLock, NumLock, and ScrollLock. Numlock causes the six keys "JKLUIO" to read out "123456". To set or clear Numlock, use the Fn+NumLock key combo. This is called a "full feature keyboard". It even has the GreyKeys function, to allow you to type nonascii characters and high-bitset characters, the hard way. So, I think some of these reviewers should RTFM. The touchpad has a sure touch and the common gestures work. Sensitivity can be set in Windows Mouse Settings. One of the other reviewers did correctly mention that the Question Mark--Slash key is set in a weird place, to the right of the UpArrow key. It's a bit of a nuisance to have it there instead of on the left of that key. And that does mess with touchtyping, but I don't think it's a serious problem. It looks like they made that compromise to give a square edged key layout, and as compromises go, it's not a big deal for a keyboard that is intended to be a compromise anyway. You can, if you need to, remap the two keys back using a key app, but that would give an odd shape to the up-down-left-right arrows which would upset the gamers. So, you can be a hardware dependent touch typist, or a hardware dependent gamer, but not both at the same time. Anyway, I'm giving this keyboard 5 stars because its choice of materials and the quiet tactile feedback key action are excellent, and it's a pleasure to use.

Good for what it is
This keyboard is ideal if you need a keyboard to fulfill several specific niches. In my case that was a backlit keyboard that had an integrated trackpad. This keyboard fit that niche well. That being said I got this as a replacement device for a Logitech k830. And if had any other option i would have got that again, but its no longer in production and scalpers charge exorbitant prices for the remaining stock. I have since tried numerous cheap Chinese knockoff keyboard brands and they've all been terrible. This keyboard is pretty good. The quality of the build is high and the fact that its wired means there is no dongle that inevitably get lost or struggles to connect via bluetooth. Overall I am very satisfied. I would rather it was wireless like the k830 but i've tried not to let that color this review, i knew what i was getting when i ordered it. The only real thing i wish was that it didn't have the num lock setting. I would have just left that off entirely. I guess i feel like if people actually want a number pad they should get a keyboard with on included. I switch regularly between a keyboard that has a number pad which i keep the num pad lock on for and this keyboard which means whenever i switch over a bunch of the keys mistype until i remember the problem.

The biggest pains with this keyboard are simple for the designers to remedy or fix outright.
The two main issues that I found with this keyboard was that when i plugged it in, the num locks key was on, this was only apparent to me when i started trying to make sure all the keys were functioning and jkl came across as numbers... The JKL keys weren't labeled as numbers so i didn't realize there were additional functions to them. Eff me, right? The second issue i had with it is that the shift and the / keys are switched on the right hand side. So what can be done about this? A simple program that can swap them back. Frankly, if you're looking for a keyboard that has a touch pad, it's okay. Touch pad is responsive, and the small issues with the keys can be overlooked. Mind you I'm saying this the day after I recieved it, and my review is subject to change. Edit: Over 5 years later - This is still working, the side usb ports are great, and it's paid for itself at this point. I use sharp keys to reroute, and use it at my work every day. Love this keyboard and prefer it to a standard keyboard and mouse for all my work needs. Recently, I suggested it to my office mates as a good replacement for their setups.

Its what I needed but the quality of the leg-stands is garbage.
Its a good keyboard, but the plastic stands broke on the second day of use. Never had this happen with a keyboard before.

NO FIRMWARE OR SOFTWARE TO UPDATE IT SO IT WORKS FLAWLESSLY
COMES WITH A MOUSE PAD AND TWO USB PORTS, ALTHOUGH IT ALWAYS STARTS MY COMPUTER WITH FUNCTION ON SO I ALWAYS HAVE TO TURN IT OFF. LIGHTS UP THREE BRIGHTNESSES IN BLUE LED

Inability to scroll, bad right-shift placement and question placement are dealbreakers
It literally never occurred to me that you wouldn't be able to use the two-finger scroll gesture on a keyboard in 2020. But the touchpad doesn't allow the two-finger scrolling gesture, and that combined with the right shift key being offset enough to make every sentence I type full of errors means this is getting returned. It's unfortunate, because my laptop's built in keyboard has got about 5 letters broken and I'm trying to buy the time to get a tide-me-over machine in order to be able to send it back for repairs, and I was really hoping this keyboard would buy me the time -- but I find it entirely unusable.

Perixx PERIBOARD-315US is a nice responsive keyboard
I bought the Perixx PERIBOARD-315US on sale and it has been great so far. The keys feel great. The distribution of the keys is a bit unorthodox (the "/" key is to the right of the right shift key) but it has not thrown me off. Made all of plastic but it feels solid. It's a USB keyboard, so it is responsive. Like it so far.

US layout not work in UK...?
I bought this to fit in a 19" rack draw, which it does. However being US layout means pressing say the "A" types something completely different like "%". Anyone know how I can fix it. It's weird as layout is 99% the same as UK!?

Not the most comfortable
Keyboard feels very sluggish and too long key travel for my liking. Although it works well for my infrequent use, I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who need to type more than a few sentences a day. Reason for buying was the integrated trackpad which have worked great.
