X10 PLM04 Lamp Module
I have used X10 modules for about twenty years. They are easy to install and use. The unit is being used to replace an original unit that was destroyed by a power surge that the surge suppressor was unable to stop. The only drawback is that LED lights put out a lot of noise on the electrical system that can mask the signals. If this is a problem X10 has a noise suppressor that will lessen the noise.

Always keep a few on hand and these work great.
I always like to keep a few of these on hand, especially at christmastime. I have ordered from other sellers in the past and some of those were duds, but these two work as they should. With this technology soon to disappear from the market, I want to make sure that I have enough modules for the future, as some do eventually stop working.

Doesn't work with LED's
Other reviewers said this worked with dimmable LED's. It does not.

No longer UL listed
Works OK, but I needed to install an XPPF powerline noise filter as well on certain devices in the home such as LED lighting.Also note that X10 products are no longer certified by UL, CSA, Intertek, MET, or any other testing laboratory, so they might not be as safe as they used to be

This PLM04 still works reliably in the age of solid state power supplies in appliances
The only X10 module I can find currently that has AGC (auto gain control) and can accurately receive signals with all the little switching power supplies showing up these days that put noise on household power lines

Used for years.
I've used for years, I don't like that they sometimes require the couple which (IMO) requires an electrician to install but, there you go.
