I purchased the flip flop kit to do with my 2 daughters (ages 5 and 7). I chose this particular one because it's a money saver. I have 2 kids, and this kit comes with 2 molds (which can be reused), 2 bags of quick crete, and an entire pound of mosaic tiles (which is more than enough for this project--we still have a sandwich bag full of tiles left over to use on other projects). In fact, I just looked on Amazon and a 1 pound bag of mosaic glass or tiles costs at least $2 MORE than this whole kit. So I guess we will be buying another kit rather than more tiles...The quick crete you use for these is a lot smoother than the kind you buy at a hardware store, and the directions are easy to follow. We mixed ours up in an empty ice cream tub at the kitchen table, and didn't make a huge mess or anything. My only tiny issue is that the amount of mix doesn't fill the mold to the top, so it is a bit tricky to make the top even and level. But the up side to this is that you aren't getting concrete everywhere like you would if you had to screed off the top. After you get the top as smooth as you can with the craft stick, kind of shake it back and forth and up and down a few times like you would jello or something. This makes the air bubbles come to the top and makes the sides smooth. I also sprayed the mold with cooking spray beforehand so it would come out easily, and it worked wonderful. The kids were able to follow the pattern and do all the glass setting themselves. I would recommend putting some chicken wire or a small screen (like mesh screen doors are made out of would work great) into these if you plan on walking on them though. We didn't, and one of ours broke after about a week of heavy adults stepping on it. Some of the glass pieces have fallen out over the past couple of months also, but most of them are ok still.Update: 6/26/15 The price has went up at least $5 since I purchased these a few months ago!! I just checked in May or so and the kits were all still very reasonably priced. Now all of them are way higher. It might now be almost as economical, to buy the mosaic glass pieces...I'll keep watching, and I do hope the price drops again.

I made these flip flop mosaics for Mother’s Day to give to my mom whose been renovating her backyard. They add a nice pop of color and brightness! It was so easy to use and had step by step instructions. I used some of the mosaic tiles that it came with, but I bought most of them elsewhere for the effect that I wanted. Such a fun, inexpensive project and my mom loves it!

This was exceptionally easy and fun to do. The concrete comes in two separate bags, one for each flip flop, so no measuring needed. Just add water and mix. My only complaint is the stained glass piece colors are limited to only a select few colors. Not much choice. I had some extra crafty things lying around that I added. This would’ve been a fun project with the grandkids if they didn’t live out of state.

Great project for entire family during the quarantine. I bought 3 kits, we each did one flip-flop which was enough. Kids ages 12 -20. We had a variety of tiles including white. Had fun picking colors , daughter chose college colors. In answer to questions, we did inside on dining room table with pad and disposable tablecloth. Mixed in disposable pan which worked well. Not too messy at all. Took about 3 days indoors to fully dry. I sent a kit to my niece and nephew ages 4, 17 and they enjoyed as much as we did!

This is so darn cute! My daughter-in-law absolutely loves flip-flops and she asked my husband to make her a mold. While he was pondering how to do that...(and not pondering too deeply, mind you) I found this one. The first one turned out so good I made a second one, but used a different brand of cement. Shouldn't have done that as the coloring of the cement is different and one is way darker than the other. Oh well. I'll give her the original flip flop and try to find the same brand cement to make another.

I purchased this to do with my grandsons. The kit said there would be white pieces for the flip flop straps. The instructions said there would be white glass pieces for the straps of the flip flops. There were no white pieces were included in this kit.

Fun even for adults and easy to follow directions. Would buy again. Great price too.

Very disappointing. When it arrived one of the bags had a hole in it so everything was dirty, not to mention that one bag had considerably less cement mix left. Also, there were no white pieces of glass for the strap of the flip flop. This was disappointing because with only coloured glass there was no real contrast and it didn't look as expected. I would not buy this product again.
