it worked fair until the year warranty was up on the dvr and it just quit , costs to much to replace , do not buy this unit

When I installed the system and cameras, the pictures on my 42" LCD was very clear. I was very disapponted a couple weeks after installation that the DVR quit recording and the live video of all six cameras installed turned snowy. The DC converter for the DVR became very hot to the touch, so I shut it down, removed all the wires installed to the cameras and packed it up and returned it. The company I purchased it from and Amazon was very prompt in refunding my money. Also, I found the instructions were very hard to come by. Small quick setup guides included, but no detail in menu operations. Reviewing their website, they must have a thousand different models. Supposed to be a DVD that was not included in the box, but was stated in the package details. I spent several months reviewing what I thought was the best system for the money. Need to start looking again.

The quality isn't the greatest. The system stopped recording after a week or so. Going through the RMA process is a pain in the butt...I have purchased 3 of these systems for my retail stores. ( all at the same time) I have also had to send each one of them in for warranty/non recording, some more than once. After I jump through all the hoops to get my product returned, I don't get a new DVR for 3+ weeks. It is really annoying when you send your DVR in for warranty and get back a completely different DVR with 500gb hard drive instead of 2 TB.BE CAREFUL EVERYONE!!! When sending in product for warranty make sure you get the same product back!!! It has happened to me more than 2 times that they have returned the incorrect product! That means another 3 weeks you wait to get the correct product!Very disappointed in Swann, the quality of their product, and most of all, Customer Service!
