JEM Large Bow Fondant Cutters, for Cake Decorating, Set of 3

Not only are they attractive, but they are so EASY to make it's almost embarrassing to accept compliments for them. The cutters cut cleanly, the process is very straight-forward, you work at an assembly-line pace and crank out bow after bow with very little effort. I use a 1/2 gum paste & 1/2 fondant mix that works and dries very well for this and I roll the mix as thinly as I can. (I've been using a no.4 setting in my pasta machine and they really resemble ribbons). They look really lovely and are so versatile and accent that you can use the bows on anything from a wedding cake to a baby shower or little girl's birthday.I have both sets, this one (the large) is much more useful than the small set. With the small set, I find the largest of the cutters to be the only really useful one. The other two are so small that they would only work on cupcakes.You have to keep in mind that the measurement across (which you might assume is the width of the finished bow) is actually 1/2 the width because the flaps fold inwards to meet at the middle. So even the largest bow in the Large set isn't really that big. I wish there was an Extra Large set so I could make even larger bows.Another suggestion I have is to make some ribbons the way the instructions indicate, with the 'legs' hanging downwards. Then cut out another group and, instead attach the legs to the sides (under the loops) to make flat bows. You can also dry the ribbons slightly curved downward under the bow so that it dries in a slight arch and then you can put the ribbon over a bouquet of tiny blossoms.The possibilities are endless, the color of the bow sets the mood (ie: red for Christmas; white for baptism; pink for the little princess). This is one of those cutters that will get a lot of use and I highly recommend them.

The cutters do what they advertise to do. However even the largest sized cutter is rather small. So if you need a true 1 in or larger bow it's best to bypass these and make it by hand. however if you have a smaller project (cookies/cupcakes) where you need a lot of similarly sized bows these would be great.

The Item was to small for what I was specting, isntead of drescribing the product as large or small it should give information about the actual size of the bow when made. I bought both the large and the small and they redulted small and smaller. I mean if you need to put 2 or 4 bows on top of a cup cake ho ahead and buy it.

I use these cutters to cut modeling chocolate bows and they come out perfectly every time. I havent used them with fondant but I am sure they work just as well with it.

Smaller than expected. Even the largest size still makes small bows. Not large enough for a cake topper.
