LOVE these little sketch books!
I absolutely love these little folding sketchbooks. The accordion fold format is a nice change up from the standard sketchbook. They're a great canvas for creating a self-contained piece of art that can be folded up and stowed in a pocket or displayed on a shelf or wall. A great way to add something new and unique to your portfolio too. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes to draw, paint and create!

Small but mighty
I was so excited to find this! I think I wasn’t putting in the correct verbiage, but finally found it. I took a ‘marking making’ workshop a few year’s ago in which we were given these journals to work in with all kinds of media; mostly watercolor but also pens, colored pencils, inks, graphite. The pages took all of the various medias beautifully. We worked on not just one page but sometimes across two, three or four pages which is the beauty of this format. I purchased this and another slightly larger concertina journal with 100% rag paper with the idea that I will take one or both on an upcoming trip to Europe and capture my journey in watercolor. One reviewer was so disappointed that this journal was so small, but it works large! Worth the price.

it's very nice, but small
I never bought a moleskine before but I saw this design they had for a sketchbook and it looked interesting enough to try out. The paper is nice, though when it says 60 pages that is really assuming you are not going to be drawing on the last 30 pages (the back side of the accordion), and will instead be scrapbooking/gluing things to it, etc. Here is why:The pages are made up of 3 'chunks' of long, accordion-folded moleskine drawing paper: about 1/2 an inch of the next is glued to the back of the previous one to connect them together. This is not cheap looking or bad quality at all, mind you, it won't fall apart (I haven't used any wet media on it though) but just a warning if you plan on drawing on the back side to save money & space.. every 10 pages or so there will be a 1/2 inch second layer of paper on the edge (from where the next part is glued on). However, this is a matter of opinion--my goal of writing this is just to bring this to the attention of potential buyers.Another thing to note is that you can pull out the length of the sketchbook (thus the 60 pages--30 on one side, 30 on the other). Hopefully this clears up my description of the paper assemblage.. And unless you are only holding the front cover of the book, it won't all fall out while you are drawing. The elastic band to hold the book closed is durable, and it's not made too loose or too tight. The only other thing that may bother people is the size. I only wish there were a larger size available; 3x5 is nice for little daily doodles and such but for those with larger scale ideas it's too small. They don't seem to have a bigger version and I haven't found any other brands that use this japanese folding style for a sketchbook. (If anyone knows of one please let me know!)And so, besides the "Japanese Album" design of this moleskine it is just a regular hardcover blank journal with the elastic band to hold it closed (something that is found on other journals/sketchbooks). For me it just happened to suit my needs of a small daily art journal.

Great for pen and ink drawings!
I've just purchased my 4th Japanese sketchbook from Moleskine and I absolutely love them. The paper is thick and high quality with a very smooth texture. I use these sketchbooks to do pen and ink drawings at art museums and they hold the ink very well without any bleeding. They are also sturdy so you can easily draw while standing in place, but lightweight enough that it's not cumbersome. I love the continuous fold-out pages in the Japanese Album that allow you to create a seamless image that keeps going. I throw these in my bag for weeks at a time and they never get worn or damaged. I've tried other more inexpensive brands with less than satisfactory results, and in this case, you really do get what you pay for.

Excellent for use as school timeline!
I bought this tiny little guy, one for each of my children, for them to use as their history timelines. They are the PERFECT addition to our home school. Each page is a century and the children can put whatever they like into the centuries, whatever strikes their fancy from our readings. The sturdy little books will be used and enjoyed for many years by each of my children.

Unusual design; fantastic tool (for me)
This was a replacement for a lost information notebook; a brainstorming tool of sorts. The thick fanfold sheet is pure Moleskin and I will enjoy filling this one up with brain dumps for months to come.

Moleskine Art
¡Excelente! Gran producto
