Baby Sees a Very First Book

Great baby shower gift

I bought this because my Health Visitor recommended getting something like this for my 12 week old baby. to promote development - she said to look for books with high contrast colours and varying shapes. This book has just that, and my baby seems to like it - so much so that I'm buying another one so I can keep it at her nan's house for when she spends time there.

Good to entertain you little one.In the beginning they only see the shapes so black and white was a bit better (and we had one that was only black and white pictures). After that one she enjoyed this book for a while.Only negative is I think it's a bit expensive for what it is. Just a few pages.

A fellow granny told me about this book, which immediately caught the attention of my 2 1/2 month old grand-daughter. Weeks later she continues to gaze at its pages. Highly recommended for those who want to get a book habit started early!

I am a bit dubious if books like this really are specially good for babies, because babies have evolved to deal with the real highly complex moving talking world, and all that's exciting and colourful enough from a baby's point of view. Still, this book certainly interests babies and the colours are beautiful too, much nicer than the dull black and white of so many other books.

I bought this for my daughter when she was a couple of months old. She stares at each page for ages.
