Specifications Incorrect, including performance
Although the product construction is as indicated, the inlet side on the pump delivered is actually a 3/4" MPT instead of the 1/2" MPT listed in the title, bullets and the description. Note that an adapter will be required if you plan on using the standard 1/2" FPT adapter or hose barb adapter.Pump has not been tested for operation due to the need to order the adapter.Update: I have noticed that the specifications have been changed to 3/4" MPT inlet and outlet. Picture shows 1/2" MPT fittings. Also, the shape of the pump housing is totally different than the one I received. Operation: THIS PUMP IS NOT SELF-PRIMING and will not push out an air bubble even with some water in the pump housing. It must be full of liquid and the inlet hose full of liquid to get full volume and pressure (head). That said, the pump is currently operating about as specified with a good flow rate. However, even fully primed and using about 5 ft of 5/8" silicone hose on inlet, above the pump and the outlet at the same level as the inlet , it will not pump 7 gallons from the boiling kettle in one minute. More like 5 minutes. I am down-rating this pump one more star due to the specification discrepancies and the differences in pump housing. 3-stars is still "average".

What took me so long to buy a pump
Wow, home brewing with a pump and quick disconnects changes the game. Strike water temp loses virtually no heat as we can pump water up through the Mash Tun as opposed to draining it in. Whirlpooling is actually a reality instead of a fast stir that dies quickly, and cleaning pump, plate chiller and boil kettle is basically PBW circulating through it all for about 10-15 minutes and you're ready for the next brew day. This pump is less expensive than name brand models but, so far, it works just as well. I would give it 5 Stars if it had an On/Off toggle switch, but it doesn't and the only way to turn the pump on and off is to plug it into a socket or remove plug from socket (ext cords count as sockets)

this thing cranks
I've had a few pumps now in my 7 years of homebrewing. this is every bit as quality as the chugger pump. solid ss 1/2" npt threads. NOT 3/4"!!! only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the misinformation on the add, which caused me to buy adapter fittings that I did not need.

Quality pump for home brewing
I have run several home brew batches through this pump now and it has held up quite well. I use it for a recirculating pump and for a transfer pump and have had no issues with it. Research the person who made the negative review before believing it, he appears to be the owner of a competitors pump, pretty sad that he feels the need to make false claims about his competition really. I'll be ordering another of these when I need an additional pump.

Mixed quality
The front end / pump head was of lower quality machining while motor was of much higher quality. It might be a one off issue, it might not.

NOT 1/2” inlet. 3/4” and needs adapter.
Great pump and even pretty quiet however, the inlet is 3/4” MPT not 1/2” as advertised. I had to purchase an adapter (which was simply an inconvenience) before I was able to use the pump.

leaking
The pump seems to be of decent quality, but the product that I got was leaking a lot, and when I took it apart it seemed to be missing an O-ring. Hopefully, this was just a manufacturing error but it effectively makes my pump worthless
