Solid for NES, GB, GBC...small warning about the mini SD Slot
There are any number of Famiclone systems out there. We know how they are. They come with this annoying music, horribly translated titles, some rom hacks, and maybe 100 games if you're lucky. This is a bit of a different take. Still limited to only playing NES, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color games. But you just load the roms onto a mini SD card (4 gigs will be more than enough space if you have a smaller one kicking around somewhere) and the system will play them on the built-in emulators.I play tested several games on all three of the emulators and most of it was pretty solid. The two knocks I have against the system is the mini SD slot. Once you put your mini SD card in, it will NOT want to come back out. There's really no way to reach in and eject it. I had to unscrew the back screw to loosen it to get a pen in there to help it eject. My advice is load up all the games (easy enough to do) first, put it in, and that is the mini SD card's new home. The other is the not-at-all intuitive way of adjusting the volume and screen brightness. So I'll likely be keeping the manual for a while longer until I memorize it.I'd gladly pay another $10-15 for SNES and GBA emulation on a device like this. As these consoles improve, I hope they phase out the AV out cables and instead opt for an HD cable for TV.Overall this is a solid purchase if you're sick of playing vintage games on your computer or phone and you're looking for a more authentic Game Boy experience.I attached a picture of my 2DS, BittBoy, and New 3DS XL. The Bittboy is by far the smallest. The thickness is probably about the same as the lower end of the 2DS.

The coolest portable retro game player I’ve seen.
I love this thing!! Mind you, you’ll need to load the games with your own ROMs on a mini SD card which is not included, but once you do it’s so cool. The screen looks amazing. The sound is great. I’ve only tested a few of my favorite NES and game boy games but they run great. The screen is a little larger than the 1st generation gameboy, but of course has a resolution like an iPhone screen or something. Clear sharp color. I only wish I knew about it before Christmas so I could buy it for a couple friends. Other cool features: a built in rechargeable battery is included as well as a usb charging cable and AV out so you can connect via RCA jacks to any TV that has those type of Inputs. My only wish would be for a way to connect a full size controller for when you connect it to a TV... because the buttons are a little cramped compared to the NES controller.. smaller even than the original gameboy. Still that’s a minor thing. I love this thing!!!

Great little emulation machine
The New Bittboy has a few negatives, but I would class it as a five star emulation machine for the money. NES emulation is great. GB and GBC emu feels a little "floaty" because of screen rendering - but I tried a game on the original hardware side by side and there was no lag difference. I stopped noticing this pretty quickly - it's kind of like the ghost trails left behind on the OG gameboy. The screen is phenomenal, the buttons are a bit noisy but feel great. I have some issues with controllers on the smaller side, but this is big enough that I haven't had any cramping, even on marathon sessions. The GB/GBC sound emu is a bit lacking - which is typically the case with those emulators anyhow. The battery would be a negative for me, but it's removable and replaceable! It's the same battery as a Gameboy Advance SP. I snagged an aftermarket SP battery with a higher capacity (the BittBoy's battery is 700 may, you can find 850 mah batteries on Amazon) and it kicked up the battery life a bit. Having a spare also means being able to swap batteries on the go. The batteries charge fast, and you can play it while you are charging. To load roms, they need to be unzipped and placed in the root of the SD card, i.e. not in a folder. This thing actually fits into a jeans pocket, and is my new go-to bus commute distraction. My unit has an issue with the SD card slot being a bit tight, but removing the top two screws from the back allows the card to be removed freely. The TV out doesn't look particularly great on a HDTV (and I wish it was HDMI instead of composite), but I don't see myself using this machine for that purpose anyhow.I'll update my review if there are any changes, but after a week I am exceptionally happy with this.

Excellent Little Retro Handheld!
I've had the new BittBoy for a few days now and so far I absolutely love it! The screen is a high quality IPS screen that you typically don't see in these clone systems. It's very bright and vivid which makes playing the older gameboy and gameboy color games great as the original systems didn't have a backlit screen back then. Battery is rechargeable and lasts around 3 hours or so. Loading ROMs on it was a breeze! Just format a micro sd card to fat32 and toss all your NES, GB, and GBC roms onto it and when you put the card into the BittBoy it automatically detects them and organizes them. Compatibility is great and I only ran into issues with a few NES games like Battletoads that had graphical glitches. This will likely be sorted out in a future firmware update for the system. It supports savestates so you can save/load any game at any time. Last I also love the fact that it comes with an AV cable so that you can hook the system up to your TV and play it on the big screen. I tried it on my 55in TV and it looked great! Overall I highly recommend the new BittBoy to anyone who collects retro games that is looking for a more modern portable way to play them and also anyone who just wants to relive the classics.
