Very high quality crimper, really nice ferrules. Works wonders with my 18 gauge stranded wire (aka lamp wire) and lever wire connectors. Years ago, in the 1970s while working as an electronics technician, we used to dip the ends of stripped, stranded, hook-up wire into a solder pot full of molten solder. This created a solid end that was easy to loop under screw terminals without the strands unraveling, or to slip into hooded screw terminals for a solid connection. It was much later that I and fellow technicians discovered wire ferrules that crimped onto the ends of stripped, stranded, hook-up wire to accomplish the same purpose without the bother of heating up a solder pot. Only problem was, these were at that time apparently aimed at the much larger commercial panel-builder market where hundreds if not thousands of wire ends needed to be terminated. The ferrules were not cheap, but the "star crimp" crimping tools were absolutely ridiculous in price. So, I finished my technician career and became a graduate electrical engineer (BEE, 1978, Univ. of Dayton) without ever using ferrules or acquiring a crimping tool for same.Flash forward to the 21st Century and Amazon, now importing a crimping tool and an assortment of color-coded ferrules and selling them for ridiculously low prices. That was a no-brainer for me. Sure, the crimper isn't a "star" crimper but it gets the job done. And I didn't need to buy ferrules in thousand-per-lot quantities. Highly recommended product for the serious electronics builder/hobbyest. The ferrules are too large to insert in solder-less breadboards, but work great in all manner of screw-terminal strips.

I wanted a way to clean up my wires when installing car audio. I have only used this tool a handful of times but it did make nice crimps, and the selection of ferrules you get is pretty decent. It lives permanently in my electrical tool kit. I'm sure time will tell if the crimper holds up but so far it seems to be doing just fine.

These are a must for anyone utilizing electronics with screw post grip type terminal connections. No fuss, no hassle with frayed wiring. Worth every penny compared to fried devices due to stray wires!

Not a bad furrel kit, crimps still work have had them for a few years now

I'm a licensed Solar Contractor and I had a friend ask me to install a small 12 volt system in his RV for him, so I picked this kit up to ensure that all of the wiring was properly crimped. I don't normally do 12 volt systems and didn't want to spend a lot of money on our usual tools. You get a LOT of value for this tool. It's not a Knipex or Klein, but neither is the price. I believe that with proper and careful use you'll get several years of use out of it. The crimp connectors are also very good quality as well and included with the purchase. I would like to see some type of nylon zippered or plastic case included for another dollar or so in order to keep the kit together for easier storage. Other than that it's a Great Deal.

This is a must for so many DIY applications!These will keep your stranded wire ends cinched up into an easy to use ferrel that is easier to put into DIY board and other terminals. When making hobby power supplies, add a ferrel for each side so you don't accidentally short the wires you'd be plugging into their terminals. Crimp the ends of speaker cables so they are easier to put into their screw terminals. Terminate wires that go in control boxes. All sorts of things!

The crimper works exactly as expected, securely crimping the ferrules onto the stripped wire. The ferrules themselves are exactly as represented. This was a great buy, well worth the low cost in my opinion.

Ordered on 11 Aug, received on 19 Aug. Happy with the tool and have been using 3 sizes of the smallest ferrules for converting 2 pin plugs to 3 pin UK plugs.

Wrong size and no brand on the crimpers received. Amazon is a joke sometimes! Crimpers received are 0.25-6mm. Not 0.08-10mm! The crimpers sent are so cheaply copied that they couldn’t even be bothered putting a brand name on them!
