William Helburn: Seventh and Madison: Mid-Century Fashion and Advertising Photography

I didn't know anything about William Helburn until I picked up this book. A master photographer who deserves to be remembered with the likes of Irving Penn and Richard Avedon. Stunning photography. Mad Men was a great show. This book is even better.

amazing photographs by an adventurous talented man. My Dad was his agent. they were friends as children and climbed up fire escapes into fancy Park Avenue apartments and ate candy off the coffee tables of wealthy homes and laughed and climbed back down to the next one. this is a gorgeous book of amazingly original photographs from years back that made Vogue and Harper's Baazar interesting .he had class and humor and dared to be unique. he was.

Bill Helburn's book is full of iconic photographs that were the hallmark of advertising and fashion in the fifties and sixties. His story is as remarkable as his photographs. He was the "GoTo" photographer for many of the great advertising agencies of post war New York. He lived the New York life to its fullest and enjoyed his work as much as he did his society life. A great book that is fun to read and candy for the eyes.

I absolutely love this book. William Helburn is a genius photographer and his book is a joy to read, especially if you remember the 1960s. It is a great coffee table book because every page has fabulous photographs of beautiful peeople.
