Perfect performance.
The GC 80 turned our 60lbs lamb for 7 hours effortlessly. I have full confidence we can do an 80lbs pig. Had to grind out the spit fork a bit before ot wold fit on the spit. Bit other than that it's worked great.Sorry couldn't post a picture. Lamb looks delicious though.

Did not work. Ruined our backyard cookout.
When this first arrived we were so excited. We ordered this specific rottisserie because it was supposed to be built for a heavier pig (rated for an 85lb pig) “with ease” according to description. When put together it looked deceptively sturdy and surey looked like it could do the task.We ordered a 40lb pig from Costco and put it on the spit. The stands which when on our flat garage floor looked steady. But when we placed in backyard bear the pit, it became flimsy. And when we started the motor we already felt something wrong was going to happen. The motor was not strong enough to rotate our pig on the pole, after a few minutes the motor stand gave in and then the tripod stands lost alignment and our pig fell to the charcoal in the firepitWe tried to remedy it but the motor stand was now useless so we wiped off the charcoal on the pig and were forced to manually rotate the pig on the pole which was even more difficult because the pole was short and we were so close to the heat.Eventually we gave up chopped up the pig and threw it in the oven.Really expensive price for something that did not work.Working on the return and refund, hoping this will be expetied and seemless.Picture will show how the motor stand loss its form and connectir to the stand. This product did not work for us.

My New Fav Toy
Great rotisserie and it served me very well over the Xmas holidays with both a side of beef and a whole hog. Couple of issues that would have been nice improvements to it considering the high price.1. This is one speed only (although speed is perfect for large meat).2. The height adjustment is only good if you plan on cooking over an open flame on the ground. I like using a 1/2 barrel for the heat and the height only adjusts up about 1 foot. Another foot on the height would have been ideal. I have to put the spit on blocks to get it high enough to fit over the fire barrel.3. The spit bar itself is great for large meat; however, without a custom basket and/or a smaller spit bar, large meat is all you can cook with it.I'm very pleased with it and it shipped out on time and was professional packaged etc. I look forward to many years of feeding the neighbourhood!

Did the job
I purchased this item to spit roast a 65-70lb piglet after reading some negative reviews on alternative rotisserie. My experience with this product was overall positive. It ran without a problem for 7+ hours. The main spit held together very well and the forks did not rotate. However, for my next roast I intend on (1) building a custom firepit with fire bricks and (2) finding a better way to secure the legs of the pig while balancing the rotisserie. The reason for (2) is because the legs throw the entire rotisserie off-balance. We had wired the legs tightly to the forks but there was still a "throw" effect every time the legs went from rotating up to rotating down. Two small crossbars secured to the spit with a small counter balance should resolve that problem. All in all, I recommend this rotisserie for roasting up to a 70lb pig.
