6 Classic Albums

I love the content.I wish the publisher would add the track information to the online databases like Music Brainz.

as someone who does not know a lot about CDs (using my parents amazon acc.) this seems like a good quality CD pack, including the albums "the songs of Robert Burns", "classic Scots ballads", "streets of song" (which is the lowest quality album of them all, with audible pops and crackles, which i will say is the sign of a low quality studio, but i dislike the whole album so i can look over it), blow boys blow and both volumes of the "new briton gazette" i just wish they organized it where they had full albums on each CD so the next CD didn't have to pick up where the previous left off, all in all this is a good purchase for any MacColl and (Peggy) Seeger fan, it just definitely needs to take the streets of song album from a better source than the one they did

I was looking for the CD of Row Bullies Row. It was available as a "burned as ordered" CD, and at a greater price than this six LP collecton on four CDs. CD 3 contains all Row Bullies Row, and the audio quality is superb. I was very pleasantly surprised at how great the other five albums were! I am an Uber driver and listen to music between rides. I am very pleased with this awesome collection, and at an equally awesome price. I enjoy driving around all day listening to these four CDS so much that I am going to order the second six LPs on four CDs! If you like classic British folk music, then you really might want to grab this collection. I especially love Ewan's version of The Handsome Cabin Boy, which was covered on Jerry Garcia/David Grisham CD Shady Grove (which led me to check out Ewan Mccoll a decade ago. This is great, great stuff!

Technically excellent transfers from what went into making the original LPs. They sound great even on my Klipsch RF-7 II speakers. The price is amazingly low, 'tho I would have been happy to pay a bit more if there were more (actually if there were ANY!) notes; for example the original notes from the albums. Also, with such a wide ranging collection on this and its companion set of 4 more CDs containing 6 more albums, you will undoubtedly like some of the songs better than the others. But where else can you possible get such a collection?

Folk fans and english folk medium lovers will be attracted to this album.

Was good but too many CD’S. With one CD having all 20 second songs, it gets weary. For this reason I don’t really recommend.

GOOD CD.

Ewan MacColl, wordsmith, theatre producer, song writer and describer of so many working peoples' situations. Lots of songs here and a good library for people catching up on folk or a demanding intro to it. Ewan took no prisoners yet was capable of writing one fo the best love songs ever, the First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. This set is like a good dictionary to return to now and again. There's a Christy Moore boxed set of 6 that does the same for me too

It was hard to find, I only had lp's 33 and 45's so to have great tradition songs which reflect the heritage which is becoming lost to play this music,tells the story of all those people who lost homes,had them burnt,transported by the so called government of England and scotland

Rubbish copies of the original recordings and all very badly reproduced my copy of this 4cd series went into the binAnd what's worse is they are not remastered either.
