9/19 iPhone 6s tethered to a charger? Get this back up battery charger for hours of true mobility!
***** 5 Star Update 9/19 to original review. This company stands by their no hassle warranty! My original order was in January and in late September I began to have an issue. Within days my replacement battery cover was delivered with no hassle! Thank you for customer service and your awesome product!Previous Review:I’m not one for writing a product review but the iPhone 6s built-In backup battery phone case and customer service at Smiphee truly deserve 5 stars*****! First of all, my iPhone 6s battery is the pits! It’s been replaced several times. Replaced it less than a year ago but that doesn’t matter, after a full night’s charge, low battery status within just a couple of hours no matter how much I use the phone. It had gotten so bad, basically had to keep my iPhone tethered to a charger! So have multiple chargers all over the house, in the car, purse and in the computer bag.My original iPhone case began to fall apart and was looking for a replacement on Amazon when I decided to search for back up battery iPhone cases. This case from Smiphee (iPhone 6, 6s, 7, 8 Battery Case, Rechargeable Extended Battery Charger Case for iPhone 6 6s 7 8 (4.7 inch) 4000mAh Portable Protective Charging Case (Black)) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L1CP5QM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_l9sUCb54G6QAF, popped up and had a great price, great reviews and offered an extended warranty so that’s a trustworthy combo on Amazon for me and with Prime it arrived quickly. The minute I got the case, I slid my phone into the base and attached the magnetic top with a simple snap. It has a very secure feeling in a sleek and handsome case. I gave it a full charge and immediately discovered freedom from a tethered charger. While it was charging, I read the enclosed paperwork which offered another year of warranty if I would register it with them. That took less than a minute and felt even more impressed with my new lifesaver! Within the first week of owning it, we had a power outage for hours. That would normally cause a panic attack due to a dying phone battery but instead I could use my phone as an internet hub and was able to stream videos on my tablet. I was really sold then. A few weeks later I had one of those freak accidents that truly should have broken the phone and the case and I was afraid to look! Thankfully I can say, the case took the hit and totally saved the phone. The case was fine but the snap top became a little loose. If I had to live with it I could have but since they offered such a great warranty I went ahead and contacted them. Turns out I had broken one of the inner snap tabs on the inside of the top but since it is slightly magnetized it stayed on but just wasn’t always a tight fit. Since I had the extended warranty, I went to the warranty link they had given me, gave them my Amazon order number and boom, issue was registered. I did this late on Saturday night, and they responded by early Monday morning and by Wednesday my brand new case arrived! Unbelievable! Customer service was so nice, efficient and quick to resolve and followed up to make sure I got the replacement! As for how long the charge lasts, it depends on how many times you use it to recharge your phone. To use the case to charge your phone, push in and hold down for a second or two on the small button on the lower back of the case until you hear your phone make that charging bing sound. There are four little lights that will blink during charging and your phone battery indicator will show it’s charging. The more solid lights you see during the charging process the more charged your battery. I honestly don’t pay attention to how long it takes for the phone case to get a complete charge but as often as my battery dies, I’m pushing that little button at least 4 to 6 times a day. I’m thrilled that this backup battery case will usually take me through the day and late evening without having to find a charger and an outlet. The four little blinking lights on the back are the battery indicators for the case. Once your phone is back at a 100% charge, the charging case will automatically stop charging. The more solid non-blinking lights you have on the back, the more charge you have available in the case. If after pushing the button, you only have one blinking light, it will still charge but only for as long as it still has juice. Depending on how much you use the charger, when only one light is blinking, it’s got no more than 25% of its charge left and could be less. If you push the button and you don’t get at least one steady light, it’s out of its own charge. If you’re charging your phone but have decided not to, just hold button down to turn it off. Since we never know when we’ll lose power, when there’s only two lights on, I’ll go ahead and plug it in so that if the power goes out, my backup battery is totally charged and always ready to go!To charge your iPhone phone and the backup battery case, use your standard iPhone lightening plug and wall charger. I’ll just plug it in to lightening charger at bed time and the next day there’s a full charge on the phone as well as the battery case and I’m usually good for the day.Note, if you’re having difficulty getting phone and or case to charge while plugged into charger, un plug charger, remove the magnetic snap on top and pull your phone out of case and then slide back in and make sure it has a snug fit and replace snap top.Lastly, per their statement, my car charger would not charge the battery case or my cell phone. If your out of backup battery charge, you’ll have to remove your phone from the case to get it to charge via car charger.

Does it's job very well
I really enjoyed this project for many reasons. The first reason is that the case itself feels very good. It has a nice weight to it, the case also has a very smooth finish and fits the phone very well. The top part that slides off has a magnet inside of it so it easily clips back inside once the phone is in the case. The battery life Is also exceptionally well, sending my battery from near empty to a full charge with some power to spare. I put a new battery in my phone to increase how much power my phone holds and with this case, one night's charge gets me full the day with constant phone use with this case. The case itself also allows one cord to charge both the phone and the case at the same time, the phone having priority it seems and then once it reaches 100% the case begins to charge which is very nice since I don't need to take the phone apart from the case and use two cords. The only issue I have is that sometimes when I take my phone out of my pocket the top part of the case stays in my pocket stays in as my phone and the bottom half of the case slide out. This is however just one con to the many pros of this case and I just change the grip on how I pull my phone out of my pocket to fix this issue.Good case, good charge, easy to use, very worth it purchase.

Stopped working
Have had the case for about a month and 5 days. It worked okay for the start. Reason being that my phone would randomly vibrate throughout the day because the charger part of the case would somehow disconnect and reconnect causing the phone to vibrate like when you plug it into a normal charger. But it did still charge the phone well for the start. However, a few days ago the case just stopped working all together. I had my phone plugged in all night and when I went to work the next day noticed my battery was less than half full. So I plugged it in at work and it wouldn’t take a charge. Removed the phone from the case and plugged the phone in to charge without the case and it worked luckily. Read through some reviews before purchasing it with similar problems and figured that they wouldn’t be correct since the product has high ratings. But I can confirm that this case is not reliable and stopped working exactly 5 days after the return period ended as others have mentioned.

Great Case but needs better design
The charging phone case I had before this case was no longer being sold on Amazon, so I decided to try this one out. Initially, everything was perfect - the case fit my phone and the charger's battery life was stellar. The one issue I had with the phone was the slide off part on the top used to remove and insert your phone from the case...So I am a bit clumsy and drop my phone a lot (either slides out of pocket or out of hand). When my phone dropped the top slide off part comes off the phone case. If there is a way to make these two parts more connected, it would make it a ton better. The past charging case I had, the top was a silicon material allowing you to stretch it to take the phone in and out, but it still maintained it's shape.

Portable Charger is a better option
While the battery life is exceptional and charging time is fast, there are many issues with this device. First of all, it was a lot heavier than I would expect from a battery phone case. It's a bit too heavy to be carrying around in your pocket, for example. A big issue I have with this device is that the connection from my phone to the charger is faulty. I will often have to squeeze the case and my phone together in order for the charge to make contact. I am using an iPhone 6s with the case and I don't think this should be a problem. It gets annoying when I'll have my phone charging in the case in my bag and when I return later expecting to have a fully charged phone, the charging contact lost connection midway through the charge. I think that purchasing a normal portable charger would be a much better option. Lastly, the piece at the top of the device that clicks into place is too loose and I could see how it could be easily lost.
