This is a great armguard
This is a great armguard I usually don't were one but I use this one when I were a coat or a long sleeve shirt

So glad that this armguard is still around
I have used one of these diamond defender armguards since the early 1990s. I loved it, but unfortunately my old armguard was recently stolen. Therefore, I was thrilled to learn that Saunders still makes these armguards. This new armguard is very similar to my old one, but it is made of a more flexible material that better conforms to my arm. The old one could be a little stiff. Nevertheless, it seems that the guard still does its job of protecting your arm against welts. I've always considered the size of the guard to be ideal for an adult male like me. It occupies the space of the inner forearm -- between the elbow and the wrist, right where the bow string might hit -- while allowing complete freedom of movement. The versatility of this arm guard cannot be overstated. It is great when practicing in summer, because the holes let plenty of air in and keep my arm from sweating. But it also fits well over the light jacket I wear when hunting in October, and it fits well over heaver coats too. The guard feels comfortable against my skin, and it uses hooks instead of stuff like velcro which has irritated my skin in other armguards I have tried. The straps are elastic and adjustable, but the design is such that I rarely have to adjust the straps. When I'm not wearing a sleeve, I usually cross the first two straps behind my arm to make the fit tighter. Then when I'm shooting with a jacket, I don't cross them, which gives extra room for the fabric. The advantage of this design is that the hooks can be placed either in the holes provided, or if extra snugness is required, they can be hooked on parts of the guard itself, and there are plenty of places to hook them. Finally, I should add that, being made of plastic and elastic, the armguard will not add to your odor while hunting.

Made for large arms, clips bite.
Does the job. OK for the price. Not very comfortable (clips bite skin), but as I wear sun sleeves, it's not an big issue for me. Like every other arm guard I've tried, it will not stay in place; it tends to slide down. Tough to get it tight enough. Apparently made for male arms, not female.

Great, but with a couple issues
I don't notice any string slap while wearing this. My only complaints are that the hooks should face away from the skin, as it's more comfortable that way, and the strap closest to the wrist is waay too long, even at its tightest setting. I actually wrap that strap over the guard and hook it on the other side. All that said, it's still better than my cheap fabric guard and would generally recommend it.

No Justice
The picture does the arm guard no justice. It's quality is really good. It has three straps, all decreasing by size (bigger for the forearm, smaller in the middle, and smallest at the wrist). Putting it on and off is a snap with two-fingers unlike other arm guards. Initially, when I received the package, I was a little disappointed. I bought it thinking it was a metal arm guard but it's actually made out of some type of plastic (polyurethane?). The advantages is that it's washable and seems extremely durable so if you go out hunting, it won't be giving off any human odors. A great purchase.

Armguard for archery
My daughter bought this; she is a tiny 16 year old, and it was too big for her arm. It was easy to fix however with needle and thread and she uses it almost every time she shoots. The size is for an adult male or large female

pretty good.
pretty good.... had to reverse the clips to make things snap in place a bit easier. Required a little sewing. No big deal. Its light, comfy and does a very good job at eliminating string slap.

Simple, cheap and effective as long as you don't care it looks like crap. Buy this for yourself as a beginner, then get your loved ones to buy you a nice leather one for your next birthday or holiday.

when wearing long sleeves it isn't as bad since the cloth holds it in place better
I perhaps should look into seeing if there are longer guards available as I've sustained a few bruises towards my inner elbow. It doesn't seem to matter how I adjust the guard, it tends to fall down. However, when wearing long sleeves it isn't as bad since the cloth holds it in place better. It certainly has saved me from bruises along the main length of the arm.
