Strongarm4523R Mitsubishi 3000GT Hood Lift Support (R) 1991-99, Pack of 1,black and chrome

Difficult to find hood support for 30 year old car.This one is advertised as compatible with 1991-1996 Dodge Stealth.Good price, prompt delivery, but useless because it doesn't fit.Hood won't close all the way.Guess I'll try to return it.

Easy to install

This is a Mitsubishi issue, not the product. The back bolt is a pain to get off and on. You need to remove the top, brace the hood, remove the front bolt, try to loosen the back bolt, and then twist the bracket a bit to get a ratchet on the back bolt.

They were very easy to install. Excellent value, would highly recommend to others.

The arm came complete for me except for the Ball Stud, which I now have to purchase separately. All other reviews state that they received everything in whole, so I guess i'm unlucky. Other than that the strut matches the OEM ones off my 3000gt vr4 and are stiff. Good arms, just watch out what you get in the packaging.

Great part for the price My Dodge Stealth hood would not stay up. I put these on and it stays up easy now. It was also easy to install. It comes with the ball joint but you reuse the two mounting bolts of the original (see picture, showing the left strut)

Ordered as a Left & Right set, This unit has a non-standard finish on the Actuator Cylinder, almost a Black Oxide finish, The left unit, which was correct has Polished Stainless Finish. Functionally is not affected.

Works great no problems.
