FULL REVIEW...
The media could not be loaded. To begin with, I am making this full review because I personally could not find any information showing me how this grater disc works. With that said, here we go:Firstly, it does work and it works pretty well - in the video you can clearly see that this grates Parmesan Cheese very well, and I am sure it will work well with all other hard cheeses.Secondly, to address the lack of holes mentioned in other comments - if there were holes, it would shred the cheese as opposed to grating it; you are dealing with a high speed spinning grater. So, I gently pressed the cheese down, and as it grates, the cheese spins off falling down into the container. In the pictures you can see the space between the disc and the 14-cup container.Thirdly, this grater disc is the same size and shape as the original ones I got back in Jan 2018 (see in the pictures). I have the Cuisinart 14 Cup Food Processor, Includes Stainless Steel Standard Slicing Disc (4mm), Medium Shredding Disc, & Stainless Steel Chopping/Mixing Blade, DFP-14BCNY (you can search this on amazon). In closing, it worked really well, grated the cheese very consistently and when I do this, i normally grate 3 or more difference cheeses all at once: like Romano, Asiago and Parmesan. In the image there is a few pictures of the results after grating. I hope this helps. Take care!

Does a great job of grating parmesan cheese.
I have gotten tired of trying to use a hand held grater for Parmesan cheese which we use a lot. We already had a food processor so we just needed this bald which works perfectly. A little noisy but very easy to use. Makes quick work of grating fine bits of cheese.

A quality cheese grater
We enjoy cooking and like to use good ingredients, and one of those we make frequent use of is a good parmesan. I have used a number of cheese graters, none of which really GRATE the cheese, they cut it into little bits, but it was all I could find other than professional graters that cost hundreds. The only solution that truly works is a hand grater which is hard work and rather dangerous - the grated cheese sometimes being a little pink tinted. When our last machine gave up the ghost I started searching for a solution and could find only the usual crummy slicers that claimed to grate cheese but do not, and then - by luck - I checked Cuisinart and found this device. We make excellent use of our Cuisinart and have a number of disks, but I never knew there was a cheese grater. This disc is absolutely outstanding - for the first time in decades I can grate cheese the way it is supposed to be grated. Note that this is for HARD cheeses, Parmigiana Reggiano, Pecorino Romano, and equivalent. Note that there are many SOFT parmesan cheeses that this disc will not work well on. When a recipe calls for fresh grated parmesan cheese, these is the tool to use - but make sure the cheese is the real McCoy! We are delighted with this purchase.

Works great
I bought this for finely grating cheese. It is so much easier than using a hand grater. I also bought a disc storage unit that holds three discs. I could fit two inside my bowl for storage, but not three.

NOT compatible with FP-14DCN (the big 14-cup model)
I'm going to go ahead and give this a good review because it's obviously a very well-made product, heavy and finely engineered. I only wish I could use it.If you are buying this for your 14-cup Cuisinart food processor, be warned that it doesn't go with every model, and the "model search" box on this page isn't very useful. I took a chance because I really wanted a fine grater disc. I was surprised to find that it was too small for my machine and used a different detachable stem. Reluctantly, I'm having to return it after having called Cuisinart to confirm that it doesn't go with the FP-14DCN and there is no fine grater disc that does go with the FP-14DCN.If you want to be sure that this disc fits your model, don't rely on the Amazon search box -- go to Cuisinart's site and plug in the model of your food processor. Once it comes up, expand the PARTS tab and you can scroll through all the available parts that will fit that model. If you don't see it in that list, it isn't compatible and you can save yourself the trouble of ordering it and having to return it, as I wish I had known to do.Again, it seems to be a fine part. Just don't rely on the search page her to ensure that it's the right one.

useless
First, let me say that I owned an 11 cup Cuisinart processor in the past and had a wide selection of discs, including a fine shredder. I just received a fine grating disc for a 14 cup processor I bought a few years ago and I’m highly disappointed that the holes don’t go through! Not only that, they are so small, that they’d turn any hard cheese to sawdust-like consistency. It’ll be going right back to the vendor tomorrow. Should have done more research as I mistakenly thought that the pictures of the disc without holes were showing a manufacturing defect, not how it really is made 🤦🏻♀️ Cuisinart, why can’t you make a fine grating/shredding disc for the 14 cup processor???

Does exactly what it is intended for.
I recently replaced our old food processor with the Cuisinart 14 cup food processor, DFP 14BCNY, affectionately know as the box for it's square base. It is the food processor for any serious cook. I bought the grater blade as I like to scratch cook right down to grating my own cheeses. This fine grater blade performed as it is intended. I just did a wedge of parmigiano-reggiano and got a perfect small grate. Think your favorite Italian restaurant where they grate the parmigiano-reggiano at the table for you. This blade is perfect for a fine grate of hard foods. For those who complained because it grated potatoes etc too small. When it comes to grating the rule of thumb is the softer the food the bigger the grater opening to use. Potatoes, due to the water they contain are not a hard food. The medium grater blade is best for hash brown, potato pancakes etc. Chocolate, due to its low melting point should always be hand grated unless you can afford a large automated roller grater. If you are looking for a grater for hard cheeses and other hard foods this one will get the job done perfectly.
