The compass on this does not work. Also, the clasp is too big for a smaller wrist making it very uncomfortable to wear!

These are really fun little toys that could also be invaluable in an emergency. Whistle works well. 7 strand paracord can have a multitude of uses. Magnesium rod and scraper do work if you know what you are doing. The compass can give you a general directional heading but not to be overly relied on. Seriously, were I to stray off of the trail, or be stranded in the wild due to a bad storm, then I would be thankful to have one clipped to my pack. The bonus is that my teenagers think these things are great. The sale price is a good deal but I wouldn't pay much more.

The are well made and attractive, but they did not include any instruction on what the bracelet does or how to use it. They say that it is made with parachute cord but don't explain how to use it if you need to use it for something.

Great gift or stocking stuffer for the outdoors man or woman in your life. I bought these for my 2 boys aged 8 & 10 and they love them.The compasses and whistles seem to work well, haven't tried the fire starter yet.
