Moma Lacing Shapes: 10 Cards and 11 Laces Misc. Supplies – May 5, 2010

If you are looking for something different in a lacing cards set don't hesitate to buy these. They are made of very sturdy cardboard. Each card has a different shape cut out of the middle (10 shapes total). Holes are punched so the card can be laced in the shape that is the focus of that card. One side of the card is a colorful design that incorporates the shape. The other side of the card shows a photograph of a group of some real world objects that have that shape in an arty way, it is fun to figure out what the objects pictured are. The word for the shape is printed on each card. Holes are also punched along the side of the cards so they can be laced together into a book or a wall hanging arrangement. The set comes with enough laces for each card plus one extra.My two and a half year old son wouldn't touch the types of lacing sets with the cartoons on them. These he laces and unlaces. I have to help him when he wants to make them into a book. Sometimes he takes the cards out just to look at the shapes.I am extremely pleased with this product.

We purchased this product for my three year old to help work on his fine motor skills and to have something to play with during quiet time at church and appointments. We really like the graphics and that the words are on the shape. We have had them for a week and the edges are already coming frayed. This does not affect the laceing ability, however I am less inclinced to pull it out so it doesn't get ruined, wich makes the point of haveing them useless. I will continue to let him play with them and try to be more careful. I am looking for a sturdy strong box/envelope thing to keep them in since the container they come with doesn't fit in the daiper bag very well and I like to carry a few at a time. I will also try to modge podge the edges, but overall I feel a learning product meant for toddlers should be able to withstand a toddler and this does not.

I work as an elder caregiver specializing in dementia-related clients. I have purchased 3 sets of these in the past few years as they are wonderful for hand, eye coordination, gives the person something to keep their hands busy with and very good exercise for the brain too. I just take one lace, put it through one hole and place it near the person; the bright colors seem to engage them & before I know it, they are staying busy. It doesn't matter how many laces they use as you can easily unlace one of the boards while they are working on another one. Great activity for repetition

I purchased this as a gift for my 4 year old granddaughter. I like it because it can be used as an interactive activity with an adult or she can use it by herself. It helps her develop her fine motor skills (which she needs to work on). It will grow with her. She can begin with basics and work up to making the book, using special stitches, etc. Her mother likes it, too--a win/win gift.

Bought these as a gift for a friend of mines twin daughters to teach some manual dexterity besides the usual tap and swipe being done on computers and tablets these days. At 6 years old they need to learn something besides how to put their fingers on a computer screen. They enjoyed these and I will be purchasing more.

I got this for my 4 year old to use while working on fine motor skills in preparation for pre-K. He enjoyed the colorful laces and patterns and looked forward to these as a break from his other 'studies'. As other reviewers have said, these are beautifully done and well-made items that are worthy of the MoMA name. Highly recommended!

My just-turned three year old LOVES these lacing cards! She is really getting the hang of this process and enjoys playing with these cards. She even brings them back and forth to Grandma's house. Nice, thick boards, interesting shapes and graphics, great quality laces that will stand up to lots of use!
