DIY Painting by Numbers for Adults,for Kit On Canvas for Beginners, New Painters, Gift Package, Monet 1875 "Poppy Fields near Argenteuil"

I am dying of boredom because of the covid crisis (STAY HOME YALL) so I decided to better myself and do artistic things on my down time. I felt like a professional painter because of this thing. ANYONE CAN DO IT AND IT LOOKS GOOD. If you mess up, you just add a thicker layer. I am embarrassed to admit how many hours I spent doing it, I finished it in 3 days. I bought 6 other paint by numbers... its now an obsession.

I have painted several different canvases from different companies and found this one to be very difficult to paint. Not sure if it is THIS picture or the digital process used to create the outlines to paint in general. Some paint areas are so small, or contain (so many) jagged lines that are impossible to get a dot of paint small enough to fill in. I know it was computer generated, but other paint by number canvases have rounded boundaries to make painting a smoother and more enjoyable process. Only 1 tub of paint per color is provided, so be careful when covering large areas! I've had fun with paint by numbers, but this one was not enjoyable. Not sure when or if I will finish it.

I have been doing these DIY paintings for awhile and was thrilled to see the Monet available because it was so vibrant and varied and almost similar to the original. Check out the attached painting I completed today. This is NOT what was pictured in the site information and unfortunately I can neither request a refund nor can I return. This is defective and a huge disappointment. The paints are horrible, many were thick while others did not cover as they should, and the colors assigned to the guide were horrific. My recommendation is that you stick with Artist's Loft kits which can easily be found at Michael's. I have had poor quality / defective Amazon DIY paintings for three ordered from vendors seemingly sourced from overseas. This one was the worst. Thankfully I have plenty of paints and a copy of Monet's painting that I hope to use to salvage all the work I put into this.

This was a great project. I was very impressed with the results. Definitely will matte and frame this! Finished in about 3 weeks during COVID-19 shelter in place. This was very calming to work on.Plenty of paint. No chance of running out. Lighter colors will need a thicker coat to cover the number and outlines.Numbers were challenging to see as they were very small. I ended up buying a magnifying lamp and that really helped.Already purchased another PBN for me and (2) for my kids 11 yo and 17 yo.

Loved that it included an extra sheet with the picture and paint numbers and lines on it. Not sure if it was the paint or the canvas but it needs 2 coats, sometimes 3. There was a shiny sheen on the canvas that hasn't been on my other paint by numbers. This seems to make the paint more transparent. Maybe the paints were poor quality- I am not sure. It is fun to do, so if you want it for that it is good. If you want to use it for display, get another painting.

While my partner was completing this paint-by-numbers, days into painting (estimated 10 hours painting) and being now maybe 1/8 of the way done, we realized this canvas is a completely different picture than what was ordered and shown in the instructions! I think it's some sort of bridge? While the paints and canvas are fairly nice, and having the brushes included is nice, it's just really weird/funny that it's the wrong canvas. I tried going through the seller's listing and I couldn't find anything similar. Would probably try a different brand again, my partner said she's going to finish this project and I'll update this review.

This is terrible. ..thin paint....super small with dark numbers that the thin paint fails to cover...you have to use a magnifier for the small areas that the thin paint covers that you will have to paint in again...waste of money in my opinion. ...especially the THIN CRAPPY PAINT....EVEN DARK COLORS NEED A EXTRA COAT and who has the time when the thing is ridiculous

It isn’t clear from the description that this isn’t on STRETCHED canvas. It’s on a rolled up piece of canvas you’ll have to have stretched - an extra expense I wasn’t counting on. Also, the numbers are stamped very lightly on the canvas.
