Perfect mod friendly frame case for moto z3
So i snapped my second frame case for my Moto Z3 and ordered a replacement, again. The previous two are no longer available so i went with this one. From the site the case design looks the same, frame case to allow for mods. I figured i was getting the same case. I was way wrong. This one is better in so many ways. Here we go:This frame case is made of a semi soft plastic material that wraps all the way around, not just the corners. The semi soft material will absorb drops so much better than a hard case. The corners have added material for even more impact to absorb. The case was hard to get on for tight fit, it won't get loose or come off easliy. The moldings for the buttons are placed perfectly as is the finger print sensor hole. The molding for the charge cable is large and cuts out on an angle but there is plenty of material that crosses the port to ensure protection. It is certainly a huge upgrade of the same frame case that allows for mods to be swapped in and out. My old frame cases has some extra space and my backup batter would slide the smallest bit and the phone would lose contact to it. Because of the thicker material, the battery and now speaker mod fit perfect without any loss of contact to them and the phone. The material itself is clear and black, so it fits into the color scheme of the phone with no issues. The front and back of the case bump out a bit to create a lip. If the phone falls flat the screen and or back will be protected. The material gives for a much better grip as well, hasn't slipped out of my hands yet.Update 09/28: After a few falls, the case has worked great to aosorb the pain instead of the phone. I was in Vegas ans the seam for the right side buttons and case stretched, probably from high heat. The case became a bit loose but held. Quickly the plastic where the finger sensor took pressure ans snapped. I'm going to see if i can Gorilla glue the case back together to see what happens. Until this point the case has been great but the seam break is a bit disappointing. The Vegas heat is not typical and im sure the case would have lasted much longer.

Great protection for my Moto Z3 even when mods are attached!
This bumper case has an open face and back to leave room to attach Moto mods. The padding provided by this case is thicker than the last form-fit case I had used, and as such should give more drop protection. The corners of the case fit snugly, but since there is no back to the case, the middle of the bumpers feels a little loose. This is not a problem, but an unavoidable feature of a bumper style case. The corners even have a thicker layer of material to withstand drops better - I have full confidence my phone will be protected. All of the buttons and openings for USB-C and the fingerprint reader are positioned perfectly and work just as well. The bumper also provides grip and traction, so the phone stays put when placed face-down, and it also makes the phone feel more secure to hold. I love being able to have my phone protected while still having full access to my JBL speakers (version 2). I can easily remove and attach my mods without messing with the bumper. I highly recommend this bumper case if you have one or more Moto mods for your Z3 series phone.

Not perfect, but does what you need it to
This bumper is great for protecting the edges of your Moto Z3 and still allowing access to swap most Moto Mods. I have the battery, speaker and projector mods and can swap them all out. The battery mod and the back plates require a little extra fiddling in order to remove. Its easier if you pop off one end of the bumper so that you can swap those mods out. This obstruction is due to a lip on the bottom back end of the bumper that does not allow full clearance. It is a small annoyance. Overall the bumper is very sturdy and has taken a couple of drops already and handled them well. One other slight imperfection is that the case is not "form fitting." Meaning that the bumper appears a little loose at certain points. This has no impact on the security of the case. There is no way it will come off as it snaps on to the phone very tightly. The wiggle room seems to be a very minor design flaw. Volume and power buttons work just fine and the opening for the side fingerprint sensor is great and allows for easy access. I never have an issue using the fingerprint sensor no matter the angle I use. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product. It offers great protection and flexibility with most Moto Mods.

Keeps the edges safe but it's fragile in the fingerprint scanner
Didn't have the mod problem on the bottom tab. Works good and keeps the edges all safe. The only problem like others stated is the plastic around the fingerprint scanner. It's so thin and fragile there that it'll snap. Only had mine less than 3 months without a drop and this exact spot broke. Should of made the whole thing rubberized instead of plastic. That's the only spot that even is... Just bad design I guess.

Works great!
This bumper is a perfect fit with (or without) my Soundboost2 Mod. It helps prevent the mod from shifting and sliding. It adds something to grip so I don't feel like I'm going to drop my phone. If I do drop my phone I know I have a little added protection. Obviously these things don't make your phones invincible but it can help. It appears to made by fusing two different materials together; a rigid black plastic and a mostly clear more flexible material. The areas around the charging port and fingerprint reader use the black material This less flexible area around the fingerprint reader also happens to have the least amount of material, and is an obvious weak point in the design. This is confirmed in the user photos others have uploaded. If you need to remove and apply this daily, it's probably not the right product for you. It *appears* to add enough thickness to the back protect your silly Motorola protruding camera parts when you're using no mod and your phone is on it's back on a flat surface. However, it's possible that the camera parts may still touch flat surfaces. I can't tell because it's close and difficult to test. It adds thickness to the front as well so I can lay my phone face down without worrying about scratching my display. None of the buttons are difficult to push, which was a big problem with my last case.
