I love this book because it shows a true history that is not portrayed by movies. Some of the reading seems to be couched in terminology that was deemed acceptable by the dominant culture. But pictures and artifacts in themselves don’t lie.

Superb book!!! Never heard of Elizabeth de Menil before. She was a major contributor to the african diaspora.
