makes noise after a couple of days

The box definitely makes this look like it's worth more than the $10 I spent for it at Walmart, but you get what you pay for and nothing more. It's obviously plastic (as much as the box tries to suggest otherwise), and there are screws visibly in each corner.My biggest problem is that, until recently, I couldn't hear the water at all. I tried moving the rocks around, hoping that would make some noise, but it was only after I added more water than the fountain calls for that I began to hear it. I'm glad to hear it now, but the pump is still three times as loud as the occasional drip of the water. I'd definitely save up for a better one.

After I tinkered with this little gem a bit, I found that I really like it. I added a couple of handfuls of coarse aquarium gravel to the pebble tray (avoiding the drain slots, cover those with pebbles) to cover the plastic and added one quartz rock I found by my local river to the pebble collection contained in the package. I placed it over one of the lights so the quarts kinda glows. Most people complain about the lack of water sound coming from this type of device, but I found that if you stack the pebbles up the front of the drip area, with two on the platform that the water drips on, you get plenty of cascading water sounds. I can almost hear the water gurgling across the room with the TV blaring. The trick seems to be making hollow places in the pebble pile so the water almost echos as it cascades down into the tray. If you don't mind tinkering with it a bit and adding some gravel and a rock or two, it is a very rewarding little fountain.

I got this fountain for my daughter’s room. The thing is so loud you can’t even hear the water. I would return it if I could.

Received this product brand new. Followed the instructions which basically just say 1) insert 2 AA batteries, make sure it's in the OFF position 2) fill the water reservoir with 6-8oz filtered water 3) turn it ON and voila! I waited 5 minutes for water to start flowing and nothing at all. Repeated the process twice and still nothing. It's too bad because I purchased this fountain for the sole purpose of it being battery operated but it was definitely just a waste of time and money.

Works great no excess splashing

It was ok in the beginning and 3 weeks later it started to make a buzzing sound. It is on my desk in my office so didn't want to disturb anyone so I no longer turn it on. I added more water and it still does the same so, not pleased. My coworker has the same one (but not from Amazon) and her s does not make the loud buzzing sound so back to Amazon it will go. :-(

Company worked very well with me when there was a discrepancy with the first fountain I received.
