A lot more effort involved than you might expect
Ok, the grind variances are good. I can get a superfine espresso and a decently consistent coarse grain for pour overs and french press.but...and it is a massive butsweet heck does it take some effort to get your grind on. Like, it's a good five minutes to get a enough for a decent shot.Might use for travelling in the future, as it does pack up pretty well.

Cheap, effective, coffee bean grinder.
Simple design, grinds beans well enough for £10 price. Noisy, a bit awkward to get going, but good for the price

This is awesome for the $.
If you're comparing off brand hand grinders to that "brand-name" one for like quadruple the price, just get this one. It's the same thing. Works perfect for my espresso machine, I didn't have the money to spend on a like 400$ Baratza Sette or the other ones around that price. And this is a bur grinder, and can dial in as fine as it can get before destroying the burs. So you have a lot of room for any type of espresso/coffee. idk. it works perfectly, just takes a few mins to grind which ain't a big deal.

It works, is well-built, but requires a small modification for reliable grind size.
The grind can be adjusted precisely, though adding a nut to snug-up against the adjuster knob is required to keep the adjuster knob in place to maintain the setting, otherwise the adjuster knob will slip and your grind setting will change. I've learned grind consistency is critical for making espresso.

the champ has entered the back pack
I had one of these bought as a novelty while at a Bazaar in Ankara. It is a great grinder but the brass shell finally gave up the ghost. Guess what I found?

A lot of trouble but COFFEE! builds strength to grind. Settings slip.
Everything has pluses and minuses.I'm glad I bought it.It's difficult to grind. The difficulty isn't in figuring out how to use it so it's easy to use. It takes a lot of time and muscle to grind it.The first batch took 240 circles. (Yes, I counted, like counting seconds.)It's a great exercise for your forearms to hold it steady(ish) with one hand and grind it with another.Coarser grinds take fewer turns. The setting wheel slips. It doesn't stay at the grind you set so your results are a mix. I'm going to get a second nut to act as a lock nut. I saw that on a YT review video for a similar grinder.Oh and there are no markings on the setting wheel at the bottom nor instructions. I marked it with nail polish. The all the way tight mark is not at the same place where it used to be but I expected that that's part of breaking it in. After I use it 20 times I expect it will stay in alignment. If they let me edit this I will report back.On the other hand, it does grind coffee. The results can be better than my blade grinder. (My blade grinder really only grinds finer than auto drip. But I've taken to using it again because it's so much easier in the morning. YMMV) I have had to put the yoo-big shards of ground coffee back to grind again because of the slip. Let's put it this way, James Hoffman reviewed coffee grinders on YouTube and one that looked just like this was his lowest rated. On the other hand he did review it. And if I remember, that one was $40.. For this price, might as well buy it. IT'S WORTH THE TROUBLE.(Traveling with a grinder? If you care enough to do that you're going to buy a better grinder, I think. Just got a zipper bag so the inevitable bits of coffee don't get in your gear, And Bob's your uncle.)

NO, cheap, inconsistent
You get what you pay for, I wanted something inexpensive and decent, but got inexpensive. It works "okay" but inconsistent grind no matter how many times I adjusted burr. The bottom cup for product is not really connected by anything except an area of about 1/2 inch where it sort of nests over the top half, but it's very loose and wobbly. The bottom cup (with my grounds) simply fell off a couple of times when I lifted the grinder off the counter and of course my coffee went everywhere. I didn't shake it or anything, I just lifted the grinder off counter to look at the window to check progress. Ultimately, I returned this due to poor quality and inconsistent grind. I use a French Press.
