The mic has stopped working after a week..

I bought two of these as my first one was stolen. Two different experiences with each.First one worked perfectly, really impressed and helped me record some great quick footage.Second one seems to have a loose connection, only works intermittently but you won't know until after recording has finished.

I used this mic with an iPhone 8. It's easy enough to use, just plug and go. But, the sound quality is poor. In an average room, with someone speaking, the iPhone mic works much better than this one. If you are looking for good sound quality (e.g. to record the voice of someone who you are videoing on your iPhone) then don't go for this. I think there are rare circumstances where this might be useful (perhaps if you have the iPhone indoors, and you are videoing a bird table outside through a window, and the mic is clipped on to the bird table). But, if you are looking for high quality sound then this mic does not deliver.

One of the only external mics that work with newer iPhones. Sound quality is not the best but is totally usable. You can easily remove noise with a simple software and make it sound much better. Very convenient and has a long cable which is a plus.

Good long cable and easy to connect. My only gripe is that it seems to work sporadically. The unreliability make it hard to trust when recording and I’ve had to buy another brand as a spare and back-up.

My iphones microphone is better.

Does the job. Nothing special.
