Overpriced piece of junk. Does not hold over 300# bottom step caved in at less than 220#

Unfolded, the top step is quite deep (back to front). The bottom step looks the same. But half of the bottom step is covered when using the stool. Stepping up to the top step isn't too bad, but coming back down you really notice that there is hardly any space on the bottom step for your foot. So it is difficult to step up and down. You can only put your toes and a sliver of the ball of your foot on that first step.IThat bottom step rocks front-to-back, too. Just a little bit, but enough to make me feel unsteady every time it moves.I wear a size 8.5 women's shoe. I do have thicker-than-average ankkes, but not so much that they can be blamed for the lack of foothold space.Also, you need to be very careful to press the lever down when setting up the stool. The curved end of throat lever needs to wrap around the rod. It takes two hands to unfold . If the latch doesn't catch, and you step in the first Stromberg the from half of your flight (which is all that there is room for), then the strip stool collapses toward you, and you fall off.If you can use it carefully and don't need more than 3-4" if the first step to feel secure going up and down, then this stool may work for yoy. It's heavy, and it is sturdy once you are in the top step. The padded handle is a good height to use to balance yourself . But I can't stand on the bottom step securely enough to manage anything bigger or heavier than a shoe box above chest height.

I finally gave in to usually a step stool over a chair this year. I looked a several different ones on Amazon and finally decided this one could be for me. I am really happy with this product. it is light enough for me to carry around the house without any difficulties. It is sturdy when I am climbing with security that I am not going to fall or it being tipsy. Even my husband gives it an A1 rating. At my age (which I don't give into easily) I thought I had better start being concerned of my falling off of a chair and am glad that I purchased this stool. I am not in the least bit disappointed in it's performance.

Since I cannot find an avenue to get the situation with this stepstool corrected and brought to the attention of responsible personnel who can take action ( my time limit has expired) I am compelled to state, a BUYER BEWARE is in order. Due to physical constraints, I was not able to use the stepstool until I felt comfortable enough to make use of it. (I was recovering from vein treatments.) There is a bar on the backside of the top step that is supposed to secure the step stool and prevent it from folding up while standing on it. This bar cannot secure the stool as it cannot get over the bar to secure itself. Thus keeping the stool in the position to close back up. After I stepped on the bottom step and was ready to make use of it, the bottom step flipped up causing me to lose my balance and slide of the stool. Luckily I was able to grab the counter top to stop myself from falling or this could have turned into a nasty fall. My return time has now passed, however since it is in new condition and unusable I need to get through to someone to take action. In the meantime I have ordered a better and sturdier stepstool (fingers crossed) but I may have to take this up further on social media if I continue to come up against a brick wall to lodge a complaint and safety concern to prevent anyone else from an accident or near accident that can turn nasty. I hope that this review gets someone's attention and I will receive the ability to take further action and return it. This ladder was a Christmas gift, and the recipient loved it. The ladder is extremely sturdy, and the steps wide enough that you can actually sit on the top step comfortably, using the rail as a back rest. Before I purchased this, I searched my local retail stores, and I could not find a well made ladder. The capacity on this one is 300 lbs. I will purchase one for myself soon.

The ladder is study and enables me to place items on and remove items from shelves and areas that are higher than I am tall..

It took over two weeks to arrive so that was annoying. They did respond very fast to my email so that's a plus. The first time I used it one of the screws came out and the bottom foot fell off (I was at work using it so I have no clue where the screw went). The top step is too wide so everytime I step down I bust my shin. Currently looking for a new one seeing as I am 5'3" and stock at a grocery store so I kinda have to have one.

This is a great step ladder for older people. It is very sturdy, lightweight to carry and the foam covered handle is very comfortable when stepping up. Took mine to a friend's apartment when he was moving. He liked it so much he kept it and powered me another.
