excellent and easy to use!
This sewing machine is not exactly the type I am usually working with. I use about $800 to $900 sewing machines at my college. But for my basic needs this works very well!I am still a beginner despite being in my field of fashion design for two years. I still think that for the novice costume maker, this machine works great for all your needs! This machine does not come with any specific needles or presser foots. I bought a pack of ball-point needles and regular needles since I work with both knit and regular fabrics. Like other reviews this machine can be a bit loud, but not too loud. I love using it and for the price i got it for you cannot go wrong! If you are a novice or a beginner at sewing, this machine is definitely for youP.s. if you are going to buy this machine make sure that the tension setting, on it, is at "ONE". I messed up when i used it for the first time and my costume ended up being sewn too tightly. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I MADE!

Depends on what your need are
This sewing machine was gifted to me over two years ago because I really wanted to learn how to sew. I cannot compare it to other sewing machines except my mother's old Kenmore, and I prefer it over hers. I have used it to sew dresses, hem denim and khaki pants and skirts, sew bags and other projects, and mend clothing. Since it covers my basic needs without problems, I am quite happy with it. I have only had to replace the needle once, and that was because I crossed over a pin at a very odd angle over thick fabric. This machine does not include a set of presser foots to cover all of your needs so I ordered a separate set for invisible zipper, ruffles, button holes, jersey fabric, etc. Since I am not seasoned at sewing, I don't understand why it claims to be capable of 20 stitches. I can only guess that between the combination of stitch lengths and degree of adjustable zigzag, there are 20 possibilities. This machine is not quiet, but it is not unreasonably loud and it does not randomly bang as I have read others do.I would really like to upgrade to a machine that does a blind stitch and offers other capabilities. However, I understand that this machine is a basic model and it meets my needs so I have no complaints! I would not part with it even if I do decide to upgrade.
