The first line in description says "smooth rolling surface", but that's not what I got. The chair does not roll away smooth, but atleast the mat protects the carpet and that's what I am happy about.Good material, but you never know the difference until you try.Not exactly what is mentioned or what I expected, but gets the job done and you get what you pay for.Quite happy with the item.

I've had this mat for about 3 months. My carpet is very low pile carpet and the wheels on my chair seem to move the mat from it's position often. I'm frustrated with having to reposition the mat constantly as the mat does not stay in place. While I would say the mat is durable and thick is moves out of position. It does not seem that the spikes under the mat are gripping into the carpet to keep the mat from moving. Will likely look for another option.

Overall, it is a very nice chair mat! It is big and thick, the material is made of soft rubber. I use it to protect my carpet and it worked really well. I was worried about the sharpness at the edge of the mat, but I was wrong. The mat came in a rolled up box, it was not sharp at all. The mat is also soft for the feet. The little dots help to keep the mat stay in place and I can still roll my chair like I used to. This makes the whole mat very even, and the transition from carpet to carpet on the bare floor is smooth. It seems that I occasionally reorient parts, but this is not difficult, nor is it often needed. We are very happy, because it solves a problem and makes using my office chair happy again. I highly recommend this seller and the chair mat. The mat is high quality and well worth the money.

I have this on very high pile carpet with a very thick pad. It definitely indents under the chairs wheels, but that is fine with me.It does have a tendency to move forward a bit because I cannot move under the desk without weight on the chair, and then when I scoot back I have to get the weight off or it won't come out of the indentations. I push it forward again maybe once a month. Small price to pay to not be tearing up the carpet.

This "chair mat" does state it is for use on low pile carpet. I'm trying to use it on medium - high pile carpet. The mat is made of a very soft, rubbery material. I gave it a try anyway -- NO ROLL!! The wheels of my desk chair sink too far into the soft material of the mat to even be able to roll!!! The mat did unroll very easily and it is so soft it flattened out with no problem. For use on a hard surface or extremely low pile carpet, it should be fine. I will have to return this one and look for a rigid mat made for pile carpet.

I replaced a hard mat that I'd used for 6 years on a sisal rug. This mat is okay, I guess? Afterall, all it's gotta do is protect the rug beneath it with an office chair rolling around on top of it. However, I do have two negatives..... #1 - it comes rolled up, which is okay but took a month plus to completely flatten out. #2 - I think it's a little soft and my concern is that that softness translates into chair wheels/casters denting into it and the rug beneath it.

This chair mat comes rolled so tightly that unrolling it is virtually impossible. The stability pegs on the bottom are painful when trying to unroll this large plastic sheet. I have had the two I ordered for a few weeks now and the first one is still rolled up on the edges. I cannot get it to lay flat. I have warmed it up, folded it backward, placed heavy items on it and it is not flattening out. The second one has all the binding off of it and is still in a tight roll. Too much trouble. I will fight that battle on a day when I have the time to waste. Probably going to put it on the back dock underneath a refrigerator box or something to try to get it to flatten out. Next time I will buy these already flattened.

I waited a while before writing this review, I was honestly hoping the product would change my mind. I have had it for a while now and use it every day, all day at work. I don't believe I could possibly dislike it more. It stinks for starters, it has that weird strong plastic smell, one reason I was waiting a while to review. I thought meh, that will go away once it has been out of the package for a while. NOPE! It states that it grips to the carpet so it doesn't move.... that's a joke. This thing, I have even tried tucking the corners under my desk at multiple points and it still manages to get out and crinkle up. IT. DOES. NOT. STAY. PUT. so if you are totally cool with moving this thing EVERY.SINGLE.TIME. you roll in your chair and enjoy the smell of stinky plastic this will be a great buy! go for it. But if you are looking for something practical that isn't annoying beyond belief, look elsewhere! I hate writing bad reviews because I know that when I read them I usually don't buy the product (if there is enough of them) that's why I waiting so long, but seriously this thing is horrible!
