It is not finished composting and will mold.
Don't buy this. It will mold. I added a bag of peat moss and perlite to this mixture. Once it was mixed well I placed it a large Rubbermaid tote. I fill my seedling cups, and set up my seed starter hot house with heat mat. Long story short, I pop the lid off after two days and every sing cup has whit mold completely covering the tops of the cups. I though maybe there was just too much moisture inside the tray so I left the lid off. Nope it came back. Now fast forward to today. I go to toss the moldy cupsxand strart over. When I pick up the tote with my soil in it, I notice a lot of condensation on the sides. I pulled the lid of and the entire top was covered in the same mold. I stuck my hand into the soil, and it was warm to the touch. While it was setting in my garage where the air temp is 64 degrees... I will not waste my hard earned money on this ever again.

Buffalo compost and worm casting tea
I use the buffalo compost in conjunction with worm castings to make a compost tea fr my vegetabe plants. It works great. I put about a quarter cup of each in a i/2 gallon container with water, put the cap on and shake up to make the tea. Then I water my plants with this organic fertilizer tea. The compost lasts about 3 to four weeks and then I just add more compost and worm castings.

Great Compost
It's simple, has a nice earthy scent, comes in a nice bag and my plants seem to love it. It's a little expensive, I don't use it on anything but container plants. I wish it was the same price for 1 cu of this stuff. Otherwise it's a great compost all around.

Compost Was Still Hot, Not Finished
I tried this brand of compost out for use in a seed starting mix. 3 trays of soil cubes were seeded and I was getting about 30% germination rate. The seeds that germinated never developed any true leaves before the roots started to rot. The soil mix began to reek of amonia and give way to mold after only a few days. The mix i was using was 1/4 cup blood meal, 1/4 cup phosphate, 1/4 cup lime, 3 cups of perlite, 3 cups of peat moss, and 3 cups Buffaloam Organic Buffalo Compost. I used the exact same mix but swapped out the compost for a chicken compost and had much better results. I would suggest, if using this Buffaloam compost, letting it air out and finish composting before using it in a seed starting mix.
