Baby's Christmas (Golden Baby)

So nice to have the Little Golden Book in a board book format. Eloise Wilkin’s illustrations are timeless.

This is a sweet little Christmas book, beautifully illustrated and very old-timey. My daughter enjoyed going over it around Christmas, and recognizing the various toys in the pictures. I didn't have this book as a child so I was unfamiliar with it. It would've been nice if it was mentioned somewhere in the description that they managed to sneak Jesus in there. That was so unnecessary and out of place, given that the book is about another baby. Basically you see the room in the baby's house with the Christmas tree and his presents under it, but for some reason there's Jesus in a cradle of hay right there in the room, too! It feels so forced, and it makes no sense, especially to a young child. It's not like it's showing the barn or telling the story or anything, no - it's just a random Jesus in hay appearing in the baby's room and then he's gone in the rest of the book... Random and forced, and also very disappointing for agnostic or atheist parents who want to focus on the non-religious traditions and aspects of Christmas, and given the description, are expecting just a book about a baby with his toys, but end up blindsided by forced Jesus references. So I did not expect or like that (but I should've known better, given when this book was written). The rest of the book is fine.

I remember this book from when I was a child. It was one of my favorite Little Golden Books. I wanted to introduce the book to my little guy on his first Christmas when I saw it in the store, but he's too little for paper books and the remakes tend to be a bit more fragile than I remember the original ones being.This fixes the problem! It's perfect for Baby's First Christmas. I read and he turns the pages and we both enjoy the story. Him for the wonder of seeing the new charming images and turning the big fat pages and me for the nostalgia and sharing of a loved story.So happy to have found this story as a board book!It's the size of a standard board book, not oversized, so it is a little smaller than a normal Golden Book. It's really made well. The cover is slightly padded and then the pages are nice, fat, chunky pages that are easy for my little guy to turn as we read.

When I saw this title in a board book, I knew I had to get it for my daughter's first Christmas. I had the original Golden book that my aunt had when she was a child. The pictures are the same & have that classic vibrant style. I know it sounds dramatic, but I actually started to tear up because I could remember spending time staring at the same pictures when I was a child. My daughter loved the book too. She spent a lot of time turning thought the sturdy pages.... now if only they brought back the Easter book! :)

Love this book for my granddaughter. Eloise Wilkin is my favorite children's book illustrator.

I was so thrilled to find this book illustrated by Eloise Wilkins. I raised my three daughters on her books and now that I have found them again I can introduce my great granddaughter to the marvelous illustrations

We adore the artwork of Eloise Wilkin -- this sweet Christmas book is no exception. It is my 2yo's favorite book for this Christmas, and we've read it over and over again. As a board book, it is durable as well as beautiful.

My baby's favorite book from 7 month, and still now almost 12 month, she is taking a book and turning pages herself, enjoying every picture, also it is pleasure to read this book. Amazing, my one of a favorite purchase for my baby girl.

We bought this book for my daughters first Christmas and she loves it! A great board book for her to carry around with her, with beautiful pictures inside. I personally love it because the pictures have a vintage look to them which makes it feel like it's an Heirloom book. Or a special book that we'll keep for years to come. I highly recommend it for all your baby's first Christmases!

Excellent book, and very nicely made. Granddaughter loves it, and it is her FAVOURITE book! And a must read for before her naps.
