Upon receiving these replacement cables for my Shure iems, I was satisfied with the fit and elimination of what appeared to be the main point of failure for the original cable, the fit wire, which in my experience tends to cut through the actual cabling and result in a loss of one or both signals about 6mo-1yr from purchase. Earlier today I noticed I had lost signal to my left ear on this replacement cable, and upon inspection, not only had the left cable entirely frayed and failed, but the right cable was hanging by a thread and snapped completely when I attempted to unplug it from the iem. Just when I thought I'd found a great, inexpensive replacement! I am a professional touring and recording musician, just returned from a weekend of shows, and am preparing to leave for a tour in just over a week. I rely on my iems for personal monitoring. I can only count myself lucky that this cable did not fail during a show and leave me in dire circumstances. I would not recommend these cables for daily professional or consumer use as they are obviously prone to stress failure where they bend over the ear.

The first impression is that these are just 'toys'. This is because of the thinness of the wires compared to what I expected. Being the "Curious George" that I am, I measured the diameter of the cables with clear sheathing. The bottom part below the "Y" measured at just under 3mm and the left/right side cable measured just under 2mm.Upon opening the package the cable assembly appears to have been assembled well. The strain relief, cables and knurled aluminum barrel at the "Y" and 3.5mm plug seems to neat and clean construction.I plugged them into my laptop and IEMs and they worked just fine.I question the strain relief and resulting cable life.Overall, the cables are decent for the price. If they fail, then they are cheap enough to go out and buy another set.These should not be mistaken for exact replacement for the name brand IEMs.NOTE: There are other similar cables in red from other sellers selling for higher or lower prices. I purchased those too and they are the EXACT same cable. The sellers buy these as stock cables from wholesalers in Shenzhen, China, then individually sell them on-line.

This replacement cable is a life saver! I love my earbuds and it was a bummer when the wire started wearing out. Thankfully these saved the day!

Though maybe I treat mine roughly. I ended up buying a tougher one.

Just trust me, buy the authentic replacement chord from Shure.
