Crisco, Baking Sticks, Butter Flavor, All Vegetable Shortening, 20oz Package (Pack of 2)

I was really unsure about buying these, however the fact that they are pantry stable sold me on giving it a try. Being able to use it in chocolate chip cookies, cake, and biscuits without anyone knowing I used it in place of butter won me over! The flavor in baked goods is awesome, but please for the love of glob do not use it on popcorn or toast.

With the butter in short supply I decided to grab a couple of these to mix 50/50 with real butter for holiday cookies. I remember my mom doing this when I was a kid but now these are priced almost the same as real butter. Scarcity made me grab these for when I can’t find butter in a pinch.

So handy. Use it especially in traveling in my motorhome. Takes less room than canned shortening.

You have to buy a lot and it is expensive. Unfortunately my store no longer carries it and it does make the best cookies

Great performance with King Arthur self-rising flour. Biscuits and bread are extra fluffy. Be sure to keep fats cold and measure flour carefully for best results.
