A unique heating pad with perfect size and features
Sometimes a standard sized heating pad just isn't the best shape for all needs. If you need to apply heat for neck pain, or jaw pain. this is the best. A hook and loop strap makes it easy to position where needed and keep in place. It's hard to find a heating pad in this shape with these features, and it's great to have this available for when you need it.I originally bought this for TMJ pain, but we've found it useful for lower back also. We think it's safe to use in bed because you have to hold the control lever down for it to work, so there is little danger of it getting too hot if you fall asleep while using it. The soft flannel-like cover comes off for laundering if needed, and I machine washed it /hung to dry and it turned out perfect. The cord is long enough that you don't have to sit close to an electrical outlet to use it.This is the second one of these I purchased. The first one still works perfectly after well over 10 years, and we wanted a second one in case the first one fails, since it's hard to find.

Customer service alone isn't worth buying this for.
I had come across previous review where somebody had said dealing with customer service was a pain and that the item itself was found lacking, but it was only one and I had read through the listing and description and felt comfortable enough to proceed with buying it in case I didn't find the product well and could return it.I receive it and like many said, by the time it warms up enough, it shuts right off. Was told to ease your way up to the highest temperature setting but I have to almost immediately use it because by the time it wound up like I said it was already off. Not only that, it is incredibly uncomfortable to use it around the neck/shoulders! you would think what the display photo it would be manageable but it was not. I'm a petite woman. It felt like it was poking me in the neck and rigid.Fine, I go ahead to issue a return. $6 shipping fee deducted from payment. Weird. Customer service told me that they don't have control over what Amazon says on their listings but I've seen other shops on Amazon be able to explain it there is a return fee in their return policies. Whatever, the product isn't worth keeping so I'd rather return it while losing the $6.I get the refund back after a week or so:Return Shipping Fee Refund Deduction: ($6.01)Restocking Fee Refund Deduction: ($9.80)a $10 restocking fee?!! and customer service didn't find it worth noting in my messages with them about the shipping fee? I even went to Amazon about this and they weren't able to do anything. Lost over 30% of what I paid for to try a poor product and return it. Awful experience. Should have listened to amazon and reddit reviews.

New Four-Stage Therapy Switch - to my surprise!
I carefully read many, many reviews of moist heat pads for the neck. I settled on this one, knowing from reading the amazon description of the product that it would have a manual switch that I would have to hold down or put a rubber band around if I wanted to avoid constantly holding it down while reading, etc. To my surprise it arrived with a new advanced four-stage therapy switch which cycles through a 20-minute moist heat therapy session. You can turn the switch off at any time or press it again for another 20 minute round. The switch makes no sound, so you do not wake or annoy a sleeping partner. There is only one heat setting and it is as Goldilock's discovered "just right", not too hot and not too cold. I can't say enough good things about this neck pad. Also it arrived in just a couple of days - very prompt delivery and earlier than I even anticipated. I've read the directions and am handling it with care. Now I just hope it holds up. I'll write an update after a period of time concerning endurance. The box depiction on amazon.com is red, but my box was black and is labeled "Thermophore Arthritis Pad" In looking at the instruction book, I see that it is only the "arthritis" pads that come in the black box while the red boxes have the automatic switch which means they have to be held down to provide heat. If you want this 4-stage hands-free switch, you may want to indicate that on your order or call amazon to make that request.

Works well but
This heating pad works great for small areas. It’s made in the USA and the company has been in business for decades. Here’s the thing, though. They make two different types of controls - ones that stay on and ones with levers that must be held down to stay on. This particular heating pad has the lever that must be held down. Be sure to read the descriptions carefully so you’ll get the kind you want.

Disappointing
I bought this for TMJ and found it heats up well. However, it doesn’t heat close to evenly (heats only one side of my head at a time), the Velcro strap is just barely big enough to connect around my head and basically needs to be held in place for sufficient contact to be made. I was expecting higher quality for the price. Would not buy again and do not recommend.

Over priced very basic dry heat pad
Not a moist heat pad. Does not have the moisture beads like the BodyMed or Thermalon heat pads. Power cord is very stiff and wants to stay in its package folded shape. After purchasing I noticed it is non-returnable. My bad for not noticing. An overpriced very basic dry heat pad. Purchase is not advised.
