Q: what about coldness of the materail or causing sweating when skin touches it ?

I'm not happy with this chair at all, got it for a 97 year old male, is not comftable at all!!yes it causes sweating, and wheels don't lock so if you put it on floor it slides everywhere!

Q: What is the width of the seat Please?

Well if I can find my tape measure I will tell you in a minute. What I can say is that I'm a big guy and it is plenty wide for me. The down side for me is that it is too short in the recline position. I'm 5-10 and my legs hang too far past the leg rest. It's also not the most comfortable chair to sit in and it doesn't recline far enough back. I'm going to sell mine and get something else. The seat is 21 1/2 inches wide.
