When I first got it I had to open the back (Velcro with a plastic tag thingy that just needed cut) and pull out the box to remove the tab like most battery operated devices. I stuck the box back in and positioned it how I wanted it and viola! I don’t find the song muffled at all if it’s put back in correctly. It’s easy to use just a small press on the belly and then another press if you want to turn it off before the song is over. You CAN replace the batteries.. it takes 2 button cell batteries. I love it and can’t wait for my niece to open it for Christmas! So cute!

The shark looks just like the photos, the volume is low and it does NOT play the entire song. The shark plays the song but excludes the grandma and grandpa shark parts along with the runaway part, it ends after lets go hunt. My son loves it and it’s priced accordingly with most plush tv character toys it’s size. Another negative is my 2.5 year old cannot squeeze hard enough most times to get the song to play, he hands it to me to do. I didn’t low ball the review because my son still loves the shark and it singing the song is just an added bonus at this point, he’s played with it and carried it everywhere he goes since it was delivered.

Firstly, I was shocked at how nicely made this baby shark is. I read some reviews saying it was cheaply made. Unless those reviewers are used to the highest quality plush toys ever made by humans...I don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s the perfect quality for the price since we all know our kids are inevitably just going to cover in saliva, snots, and juice.Secondly, the reviews that say the song is muffled and does not play the whole song...WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD WANT THIS SONG PLAYING IN ITS ENTIRETY AT A HIGHER VOLUME ANYWAY!?!? Also, a second squeeze of the shark’s belly will turn off the song before it’s over. It’s the best part of the toy.Honestly, I was mentally prepared to have to drown it in holy water, drive a stake through its heart (or sound box?), hit it with a silver bullet, set it on fire, and bury it in an unmarked grave. However, I’m finding it really easy to drown out the sound of the shark.Happy to say the shark can stay!

I expected it to be like any other stuffed animal you press the stomach on and it plays music.... But I was wrong. When pushing the baby sharks stomach you care barely hear the music. I looked inside and there’s only a tiny box that plays the song, not attached to the shark. If you really want to hear the song, take the box out and press it. Otherwise it’s super disappointing.

I was so excited to get this for my grandson. Very disappointed with the product and more disappointed that amazon would feature this product on a treasure truck. This is very deceptive advertising. First off, you cannot hear the songs if the box is in the belly of the shark, like it's designed to be. We arranged it differently so the speaker is as close to the closure as it can be and it makes no difference. Plus...it doesnt play the whole song! My grandson looked at me funny when it stopped (of course I had to take it out of the belly for him to hear it). Unfortunately I cannot return as I do not want to take the shark from him.

It’s ok. The shark itself seems to be good quality. The music box on the other hand is very cheaply made and thrown in the shark. It is fully removable and has no “off” switch or volume switch. It’s a little 1x1 music box and only sings through the mommy, daddy and baby parts. It leaves out the rest of the song. I wouldn’t recommend this product unless you want it just for the stuffed animal

Update: I bought one for a friend and it didn't work, they did a return instantly but I was moving and didn't get to mail the defective one back...just check yours as soon as you get it. Other than that it is awesome and my son and my friends daughter LOVE themIf you hate the baby shark song then do not buy this. My son plays the song over and over and over! But it keeps him entertained and he absolutely loves it. I on the other hand could never hear baby shark again and be happy

Lo ama mi hijo, no para de abrazarlo y jugar y sobretodo me gustó que tienen una abertura donde puedes mover el aparato de sonido y si quiero lavar el muñeco solo lo retiro y lavo.... Y si se escucha un poco bajo pero depende como acomodes el aparato de sonido.

It sure is cute and sings the "baby shark song" and the sound is not too loud which is a GREAT thing as it prevents the adults in the room from losing their marbles after a while!!Why I gave it 3 stars... simply because the shape of the stuffy is quite round and hard for my 19 months old to hold. He keeps dropping it everywhere just because the fins are very small and the body is very bulky and round so anyways... my son is very agile with his hands and has a hard time holding this toy! He finally decided to carry it by the tail which makes Baby Shark hang upside down like a dead fish... anyways... he has a lot of fun cuddling with it on the sofa and dancing with it so overall it was a great purchase just very tricky to hold on to!

So happy with purchase my son is in love with his toy he's obsessed with the baby shark now so I told him it was coming when it was on its way today and right away when I opened the box he was so overly excited over it! He's absolutely loving the toy he's so happy he hasn't put it down since getting it hahaAlso volume is goodComes with batteries which is great so they can play with it right away and then have time to get the extra batteries for when those batteries do die
