Uncanny X-Men Vol. 1: Cyclops And Wolverine (Uncanny X-Men (2018-2019))

Mediocre Resurrection of An Old Favorite
While zig recognize that the x-men have become one of the more convoluted stories since AvX, this book only doubles down on the confusing nature and purpose of the x-men today. Its story is uninteresting, it’s character development is wanting and it’s hard to figure out what each characters motivation is. The entire beginning of Wolverine, Cyclops and Blindfold reads as confusing or at the very least needless. It also relies on the fact that we should already care about these characters, but doesn’t give us a reason to. So much has changed that these characters - particularly Cyclops - needs to be given a clear motivation: redemption or... something.I’m going to read the next book, but I’m not optimistic.

Awesome read
Loved this. Great return of both iconic characters. So happy to see Logan back in the Brown and gold.

Unfocused and uninspired
I started reading his year ago but was so annoyed by it that I stopped before I got too far in. This past week, I thought that maybe the passage of time MIGHT make this more readable. Time, after all, has a tendency to soften the impact on some of the more egregious creative decisions.Turns out, no, this book is still pretty terrible. And it has no right to be as bad as it is. The summary reads like it's going to be a pretty baller story. With most of the X-Men gone and presumed dead, the world has decided that the rest of the mutant population can go away as well. With the threat of a "mutant vaccine" imminent, it's up to Cyclops and Wolverine, both recently returned from the dead, to gather up what remains of their mutant allies to fight back against those that hate them and those that cause the world to fear them.I mean, c'mon, I would read that book. From just that, I would LOVE that book. But here we are in reality and THAT book is a MESS.This thing is disjointed. The dialogue meanders all over the place, rarely hitting any real points. Salvador Larroca's art, which is usually a treat, is completely forgettable. The characters don't know what they're doing. The PLOT doesn't know what it's doing. No one comes off well, here. Cyclops and Wolverine are both great reasons to pick up a book but they just don't work here. Neither of them. It's just not good, guys.Matthew Rosenberg pulls together threads from his short run on Astonishing X-Men as well as his short New Mutants mini-series and it just falls flat. I'm pretty sure I enjoyed his little Astonishing run? I don't know if I want to reread it to see how I feel now.I'm morbidly curious to see how this all turns out, though. Does this thing manage to pull everything together in the end or does it continue down the path it is on? I'll probably find out... maybe in another two year when the sting of reading this volume has finally abated.Anyway, if you haven't already read this one: don't. There are better X-books out there to spend money on. This one is strictly for people like me who just need everything.

Well written and nicely done
I liked how Wolverine and Cyclops put their differences aside to bring back the mutants. Nothing against the Avengers but I've been a X-Men/Wolverine fan since childhood.

Return to Form
This is probably the best xmen stories I've read since Rick Remender's X-force ended. It does a good job of reintroducing fan favorite characters (that were either dead or left by the way side). You don't need to have read the previous trade, as long as you are aware that almost all of the x-men have mysteriously disappeared, you should be fine.

Classic characters return.
A real return to form for the Uncanny X-Men. And it is in no small part down to Cyclops and Wolverine back to being Cclops and Wolverine. When Cyclops went all rebel nutjob, it ruined a great character and a great leader. Now he's back to being more like the character from the first 30 years. And the interplay between the two of them is great. Also, there are some real fan favourites back, albeit some for only a fraction of time - Havok, Wolfsbane, Guido, Mirage, Karma, Magik, Madrox the Multiple Man, Banshee(ish) and Chamber are back where they belong. The story focuses on the X-Men trying to clear up some of their messes and prevent other problems before there are no more X-Men left.A great return to form for the Ulitmate Marvel Team.

MARVELOUS MUTANTS
A fantastic graphic novel about marvel's mighty mutants, the artwork is amazing, the stories are fantastic, 100% well worth adding to any X-Men and/or Marvel graphic novel collection

Good
Solid Xmen run won’t blow your socks off but if you like these characters get it.

Una lectura lenta y extensa.
No es el tipo de historia de los X-men a la que uno estaría acostumbrado, quizá se parezca a las primeras películas en su tono narrativo.Me gusta bastante, pese a ser diferente.
