Dr. Strange

See if you can guess this movie: goatee’d egomaniac finds himself in a life-changing situation in a foreign land that makes him question everything he’s ever stood for and become a superhero in the process. If you guessed Iron Man (2008), you’d certainly be close. No, this familiar plot is none other than the visually extreme Doctor Strange. I understand Marvel has a bigger plot in mind when they do these lesser-known heroes; but lately, it almost seems like they’re just phoning it in. Doctor Strange merely feels like filler to get to Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and Avengers: Infinity War (2018).I will give Marvel this much: they do know how to cast a film. Benedict Cumberbatch does a superb job at portraying the eponymous Dr. Strange, fused with enough gravitas and humor to make watching him a joy. And while many will question Tilda Swinton’s role as The Ancient One, especially considering the amount of Eastern mysticism included in the film’s theology, she certainly makes the role work in her own way. Even the sentient cape he wears has a personality I haven’t seen since the flying carpet in Aladdin (1992).What Doctor Strange lacks in plot, it makes up for in special effects. I’m almost glad I didn’t see this in 3-D, as I’m sure I would have vomited from all the swirling kaleidoscope effects seen throughout. Clearly, even though it’s six years later, Christopher Nolan’s Inception (2010) made an impression on the film world when it comes to these reality-distorting effects. There were even moments where I could catch the influence of The Matrix (1999) on the special effects of this film, especially when the characters decided that gravity wasn’t good enough for them. Despite all this, even though I wasn’t high enough to fully enjoy some of the sequences, Doctor Strange was still an entertaining film.A visually dazzling stepping stone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I give Doctor Strange 3.5 stars out of 5.

When I pre-ordered, it showed 4K, I only received the Blu-Ray version. Lame Disney, Lame... I'm not the only one that had this issue, they advertised it as 4K (either Amazon or Disney) then only released it in Blu-Ray.... Booo!

What I liked about it was how well the storyline developed the main character into the present day Hero.It was perfectly cast. The special effects were perfectly done. I also think that for anyone who has ever suffered a debilitating injury would find this story to be an inspiring fantasy. The movie gives hope to anyone hurt and suffering from a debilitating injury. Provides a great and valuable life lesson on introspection in a time of trauma and crisis. Shows adaptability and flexibility to overcome unforeseen hardships with rewards.I found it inspiring!

Wish this had the DVD as well.

Item arrived as described and on time. Even if you have not indulged in the larger MCU universe, Doctor Strange is a fun adventure that can be watched as a stand alone movie as it is an origin story about the titular character of Steven Strange. Good action, good comedy, adapts well from the comics (nothing is perfect) and is part of a much larger universe. Maybe one of the more interesting characters you will encounter in the MCU.

I didn't know what to expect with this movie, but i'm glad I got it. the family all enjoyed it. plenty of action, some comedy all around good movie

I love this movie, the special effects are fantastic, the mirror scenes where out of this world. The story line is fabulous and can't wait to see the next installment of Doctor Strange!

If you are Marvel Comic movie fan you will love this movie. As you know some movies are key to the enjoyment of other movies in the series. This movie is key to the Avengers End Game movie.

I didn't expect to see some of the effects one this, though some of the deleted scenes were...good. I would suggest it to a friend if they're really into it. And, I'm glad that I bought this. I'd give it 10/10. So, if you like a whole continuous story line on the Marvel Universe in Live Action. I would suggest to watch the first few of them and then watch this. I would highly recommend that you have to watch this.

I like the movie for the mirror world scene and would have bought a 4K edition had it existed, however the Blu-ray edition was still good. It filled a gap in my Marvel library.

Beaucoup d'effet spéciaux et il faut vraiment le suivre pour ne pas être mêlé :P mais il vaut vraiment la peine, je le conseil aux fans!
