Understanding Audio: Getting the Most Out of Your Project or Professional Recording Studio - Audio Recording Guidebook with Modern Recording Techniques

Comprehensive and Thorough
Dan Thompson leaves no stone unturned in this sweeping tour de force of all aspects of audio. Having just completed a masters degree in music production, this was the perfect book to both review all the concepts learned and bolster them with highly detailed and holistic approaches from the technical perspective of audio engineering.

Amazon have not let me down yet. Maybe you can help FedEx out.
Great book. The only thing I don't like about the book, is it has no glossary. Other than that, it is what I needed.

Most Useful Audio Book I Have Ever Had
Dan explains things incredibly clearly. Would strongly recommend for anybody interested in audio production and engineering. This is the most comprehensive and easy to understand audio engineering book I have ever gotten my hands on. Definitely worth the time investment.

Straight-ahead info
This is a great book for anyone wanting to get into music recording. For an aging guy like me who wants to do more with my computer it is perfect. It's an overview, so don't expect it to give you in-depth info on how to get the most out of your DAW, etc. However, it contains information that every aspiring music recorder should have before they make the dive into serious recording. It also will clarify how your PA functions, the value of different types of microphones. It includes basic audio theory (Ohm's law etc.), what a modern studio could look like and a host of other issues. The Appendix contains more technical info (re Hz, MHz, resistance and so on) than I will ever be able to absorb in my lifetime. All of this in a very accessible and chatty mannner. Like most Berklee Press publications, it's for the serious musician, but if you apply yourself, you will be richly repaid.

Very good book but not for the novice.
This a fantastic book if you already have experience working with audio and want to get to the next level. There is some great stuff for beginners but a few chapters get pretty heavy into math and electronics ( I studied electronics in college and found it difficult at times ). However, if you are serious about your studio this is a great book.
