This filter is significantly better and although more expensive it is reusable with simple cleaning. So, it's a buy once product to use over and over and less landfill issues.

Near as I can tell it does exactly what it should. I've had it for almost 3 years now and it's been 100% trouble-free. At $10 a filter for every (or every other) oil change, I've saved quite a bit. I noticed a slight improvement in mileage when I changed from the stock filter to a K&N.

I have used K&N filters since my first car (2001 Chevy S-10) and loved them. It's probably the best drop in improvement one can make to a car.Now I have one in my 2004 PT Cruiser (non turbo touring edition)It's great that I don't have to keep replacing paper filters that always seem to get very nasty and warped. It's great that all that nasty isn't going inside my engine but when it warps I know some of it is sliding past the filter. The K&N filter is a high quality product with wire to keep it from deforming. I love the million mile quality on this product. I really don't have to deal with maintenance on this filter for another 90k miles. I doubt my cruiser will be around that long but it's nice to have a product that can last as long as my cruiser is willing to.I will keep buying these on any vehicles I purchase in the future.

It's good to know that I will never have to buy an air filter again. It's even better to experience the improved performance from the increased air flow. My PT Cruiser is a bit underpowered so it needs all the help it can get. This filter delivers and it's easy to maintain.

Got it for my PT Cruiser, got better gas mileage and I like not having to buy filters periodically. Cleaning it isn't that difficult, I usually clean it before going to bed and let it dry overnight and so it's ready to go back in the car in the morning.

I have had one of these in my 2001 PT Cruiser since shortly after taking ownership. Yep - I was one of those geeky guys that got on the waiting list at the dealership, and tracked my Cruiser from factory to the dealer. Remember those days?Anyway, at around 50,000 miles I took the filter out for one of it's cleanings and found several areas where there was no longer filter material under the wire mesh. I would say a total of about 1/2 - 3/4 sq inches total. I no longer had the original box, receipt or packaging so I bought another one. That's when I saw that K&N has/had a 100,000 mile warranty on the product.I haven't tried contacting them about it, but I may still just to see what they say.Other than that - it's proven to give better gas mileage and better performance than the stock paper filter.Get yourself the filter cleaning kit, which includes the cleaner you spray onto the filter and rinse off, and the spray that you "re-oil" the filter with after cleaning. I bought this air filter for my PT Cruiser. I could feel small difference. It was better. Unfortunately I took my car to the garage for annual check. Couple of weeks later I noticed they nicked it. I went back to complain. Nobody knew anything about it. Pity, huh?
